My Amex CLI story:
I had a Blue card (since switched to an Everday) that I received back in college, but I had never really used it since the limit was only $900. Last October, I requested a 3x CLI online, and was immediately approved for $2,700. I was patiently waiting for six months to pass when in January I randomly recieved an unsolicited $1,000 increase (!) bringing to total CL to $3,700. Here it is now in April, six months after my original 3x CLI and I just now went for another 3x CLI (requested online) and was immediately approved for $11,100!
At the time of this last 3xCLI request:
Amex utilization: 28%
FICO (Exp, from amex): 741
After stalking this tread for almost a year, I finally get to post here!
HOORAY!!!
Finally got a little more respect from Amex...lol. First successful CLI in the bag! Date for round two, on calendar!
Thank you + a million guys! This tread has helped me *keep the faith*, lol.
The detail:
Opened 07/14
$1000 initial limit
PIF monthly
61st day CLI request denied: fico score, high balances
130+ day: instant online approval
*why 130+ days vs the standard 90...well, to be honest, I forgot! lol*

That is correct. If you get denied then you have to wait 90 days
I accidentally applied thinking it has been 6 months since my last CLI, I had 1 more month to go. Does that mean I have to now wait 1 more month + the 90 days?

No, just 6 months from the last CLI. Trying too early does not add any length

ok thanks
Haven't been on here in awhile due to new job and gardening. Just randomly in the shower this morning, I thought that it should be around my 60 days since I became an AMEX member. I could not find my join date on the page anywhere, so I live chatted with them. They informed me it was March 5. I go right to my calendar and creepily enough, TODAY is 61 days. I immediately go to the CLI button. My initial was $5500. I have $800 on there now. I apped and was IMMEDIATELY granted $15,000. I know, could've been $16,500 but I've learned to NOT be greedy thanks to awesome friends and forums like this. Not bad getting a $9,500 bump in one click. Better yet, what this will do for my overall utilization ratio. The system works. Be patient and be smart about it.
You're still 'waiting for the card', yet you want to try a CLI. That sounds greedy, be PATIENT! Play it safe, wait till day 61. By the way, I 'believe' the clock starts the day you're approved, not the day you get the card.
