@Anonymous wrote:My 181 days will be here in about 2 months. My usage on the card has dropped way down the last couple of months, mostly due to trying to meet the spend on my CSP. Will I give myself a better shot at the full 3x CLI if I jack my usage on the card back up heading into the 181st day?
I only use the BCE after I have filled up my Sallie Mae cash back limit for the month which usually ends up being just a couple hundred bucks on the BCE, which I pay off monthly, and that is about all I use the BCE for and have ever used it. So they had no prob bumping me 2 to 6 to 18 with little to no spend on the card.
I applied for a BCE and was instantly approved for $10k yesterday. Should I try the CLI right away, or should I wait until the 61st day to try the CLI? Thanks in advance !

If you just opened the card and want more then you would need to ask for a recon, not CLI, usually dont "increase" the limit right at opening, they reconsider your initial limit granted based on your specific financial situation instead of just your score and then maybe give you more. Also, i think the 3x CLI is after 90 days, but that might have changed, I am not totally sure.

If you haven't requested a CLI before in any of your Amex cards (or 90 days from denial, 180 from approval), you can request at activation or any time after that.
I really don't know if your chance will improve in 60 days or not, it old depends on use, when they SP you in the future, your use on other cards, ... Who can say that with the pull they have they won't increase you, or maybe they can increase your limit at activation but then your use/payment remove that option at 61 days?
I got only 2k limit, so I tried the 3x before the statement cut, so the card started reporting 6k and not 2k. It looks better to have a 6k card from the start than a 2k card going to 6k after 2 months.
Do you have other cards with 10k or more limit?
If you try the full 3X and they ask for documents, you can go back and try for a lower amount until they approve you (that's what I read). Good luck

I have an Amex Pllat and Gold card, I have Chase cards with more than 10K limits......so I should just try the CLI now?
And since I haven't physically received the card yet, should I still do the CLI now, or wait until I have it in my hands?
EDIT: Seems like when I went to the increase CLI option, it says I need my card since it asks for the 4 digit security code which I do not have.
My inital credit line was 3000 in december of 2014.

Hello all.
I've just got approval for AmEx BCE with $15,000 credit limit. Should I use 3x CLI after 60 days or it's too much with current Credit Limit?
Thanks
