I got the 7-10 day response, so I called in since I wanted to verify one of my offers (spend $1000 in 3 months earn $150). Anyways, she was about to transfer me to another department to check the status, but when I asked about my offer, she noticed my opening date of 12/1. She said there was no reason to transfer, and that it was denied because their policy is the account must be open for 60 days. She said to try again once the 60 days from opening date are up.
Hope this helps some people. I've skimmed this thread, and I've seen varying info about if the "wait 60 days after opening" is still a rule or not. It seems it is.
You were misinformed I believe. Myself and other people have seen first-hand that CLI's have been granted at the time of card activation.
Another case where Amex CSRs don't know their own policies and give out bad info.

There is no longer a 60 day rule. Only 90 days is denied and 6months if approved.
The CSR rep told me 60 days, but it's possible she's operating on old policy. I'll know more when I get the letter in the mail. Also next month when I try again, if I get approved, that would mean what happened today was a denial due to inelligibility rather than a flat out denial.
Also it's possible the 60 day rule exists for a certain class of customers. This is my first amex card ever, so that could play a part. My score is also pretty low, I have several lates on studen loans and one older collections. i'm actually not even sure how I got approved for the BCP at all. Maybe I was approved cause they saw my accounts with chase/cap1/synchrony and wanted to compete with rivals but still consider me a risk, so certain rules apply to me that don't apply to others.
Or maybe the instant CLI's after activation fall under some sort of grace period, considered more of a recon on the SL rather than a true CLI. I'll report back next month after I break the 61 day mark and try again.

If you try after 61 days, you'll be denied again as you have to now wait 90 days after your decline. Please get the 61 days out of your mind as it does not exist and has not for almost a year. It doesn't apply to anyone.
I'll still try again after 61 days, as there isn't any harm in doing so. Who knows, maybe they're changing the policy again. If they can change it away from a minimum 60 days, they can definitly change it back. If my denial today had nothing to do with the 60 day rule because it's still abolished, retrying again before 90 days is up won't hurt anything. If indeed the 60 day rule was reinstated, then it's worth a shot. I'll post the letter I get from amex when it arrives.

Just wait 90 days from when you were first denied

I just got denial letter on my amex delta card. I requested a cli when I received card. The denial letter said that I can't request a cli because I received a credit limit increase on another amex card.....that It has to be 6 months?
If you have received a CLI on another Amex card within 6 months you have to wait. You can only receive 1 CLI every 6 months period. Not one per account.
Thank you for finally saying this....
