Activated my BCP on 12/14 and tried for an immediate CLI....no go. Tried again on day 61 and nothing. On day 91 I asked for the full 3X CLI and got it. For data, this was my first AMEX.

wouldn't those extensions expire? and why not earn your extension by proper escalation...

I was just approved for a BCP today with only a 2k credit limit. Last week I was given a 3k CLI (automatically done by Amex) on my BCE card. Do i now have to wait for 6 months to try a 3x CLI on my BCP since I was just given a CLI on my BCE?

Does it help to let a small balance report on your AmEx card? Does it help with requesting a CLI? I just got my SPG card, but I'm going to wait until May to pull the CLI trigger. Just wanted to do whatever I can do to be successful when the shot is taken. Thanks

It's not important whether you leave a balance or not.  Just make use of the card and make timely payments. People receive CLIs when they have balances, very little balance and no balance.  Doesn't seem to make a difference.

Received my Starwood personal card on 2/17 and applied for cli same day. Approved from 1k - 3k. 

Also requested cli on dh's Old BC from 2k - 6k and was offered 4k. It's been open about six months.
