@Anonymous wrote:Well there seems to be some changes with AMX. I have had card for Like 75 days with $8,000.00 line of Credit. My Fico score this morning was 757. I just called AMX for increase to $15,000.00. Customer service rep said they don't make credit line increqases before 6 months !!! Whatever...
Did you get a 1000 inc since your last post? Maybe that's why is 6 months now? I ask only because your last post said it was st 7000, did they auto inc you?
Auto increases don't count towards setting the clock at 6 months. Only customer intimated CLIs do that
Thank you for the information, I wasnt even sure they ever do auto cli's, I never hear much about it. I was just hoping there was an easy explaination for bmonc . Amex sure seems to change rules often????

AmEx prequal is picky. I have 3 of their cards and never a prequal. If they approved you for $10k they like you.Interesting. I guess that gives me a little hope. Would you care to share any of your profile stats aside from your EX score when you applied... oldest acct, AAoA, util, payment history etc? I'm trying to find people with similar profiles to mine, although no one is ever really the same, just for comparison and data point purposes prior to me apping.
I may be able to help with this, as I just applied for the BCP this week and was approved for a $10K limit, much to my surprise. I'm new, so forgive me if I make any posting errors.
I began rebuilding just under 4 years ago, so that's my oldest account age. AAoA 1.8 years. EQ-721 (CK), TU-724 (CK), EX FICO-755. $110,000 income. 18% total utilization. Cap One Quicksilver One, 4 years, $2K CL. Chase Freedom, 1 year, $4.5K. Discover IT, just opened, $4K. Citi Double Cash, just opened, $6K. Target card, 3 months, $500 CL. Authorized user on Amex Gold for 3 years with $30K spending limit. $26K car loan. Perfect payment history, no derogatory marks. 7 hard inquiries. CK odds, "very good" for this card.
I went to AMEX's site to check if I prequalified for any of their cards. They didn't have any offers for me. After submitting application I was prompted to answer a few questions about my employment and income, then was given an automatic approval for $10K.
Let me know if I missed anything or you have any questions. I do the same thing and research a ton before applying, so I'm happy to help.

They do auto CLIs from time to time. No idea what generates them. Amex can be difficult when trying to figure out their CLI rules but often the confusion stems from users trying for them too early. Hard to tell what the issue is with bmonc without knowing more.

Thank you for all that info. Very helpful. Some of my data is similar to yours... a few things little worse, a few things a little better but overall relatively the same and my scores are similar to yours as well. I guess I'll apply in a couple of weeks and see what happens.
Hey guys, one more thing that I'm unclear on here. In another thread someone mentioned how many people have received an instant Amex CLI upon request following activation. From reading this thread I thought one had to wait 61 days, but evidently some have received instant CLI's at the start. That said, my question is this:
If you get a CLI on an Amex card just after it's activated...
1 - Is it able to be a 3X CLI like the one can be at 61 days?
and
2 - If you get an immediate CLI after activation, are you still able to receive a CLI after 61 days OR do you then have to wait 180 days?

You're very welcome and good luck to you! I honestly didn't think I'd be approved at all, because my credit is a little sparse and young. Plus my scores had just dropped a bit due to getting the Target card and an increase of the balance on the AMEX Gold I'm an AU on. I only applied because I was on a high from getting approved for the Discover IT and Citi Double Cash and said what the heck.
I looked at this thread a few days ago when I got approved for my BCP and was planning on the 62 day request, but then I ran into another thread where the OP got an instant approval upon activation. I received my card today and upon activation went for it and made the request: I got it ! from 10K to 30K. So much for 232 pages of posts about the 62 rule.
I love to see myths shattered

Daaaaaang now you're tempting me to try when I get mine in a couple days.
