Gotcha, makes sense. With that EX score your limit could certainly bump up some more, but with your income where it is that's probably the only thing holding it back.
So, if I just opened a BCE and am coming up on my 61 days for a CLI on ED, should I wait longer? My score went up 40pts since applying for ED, so the limit is lower than it should be.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
Today marks my 62nd day of having a BCP and because of this thread, I decided to pull the trigger on the 3x CLI.I initially got the "7-10 day review" message after I submitted my request online, I was bummed but understood that I'd still likely see a counter offer.
As the 3x CLI page opens within another tab, I went back to the Home page tab and I was shocked to see my credit line had already been increased to the $16,500 I requested!! So no waiting/review period ended up being necessary!!
Here's my stats as of today with the 3x CLI approval:
MyFico/Other Handle: Lzzybeth
Initial CL: $5,500
61 day/181 day CLI: $16,500 (APPROVED!!)
Amex Utilization @ CLI: 0%
Overall Utilization @ Last EX Soft Pull: 26.73%
Ratio of Income/(Overall Available Credit) (4 decimal places): 3.2619
Number of new credit lines opened since opening Amex account or last Amex CLI: 0
Total $$ value of all transactions since Amex account opening or last Amex CLI: $1,134.75
This came up to my 61 day since being approved for the amex BCE and decided to hit the LUV button got instant 7-10 message. Asked for more thn the 3XCLI so
probabaly shot my own self in the foot on this one. Should I go back and request just the 3XCLI instead? Are these hard or soft pulls?
Soft pulls.
Lzzybeth, nice work!
Hey all, just a data point for those that just squeaked in like me.... I was approved for BCE w/scores in my sig...
Last week, 61 days were up, asked for a 3x increase ( $3000), received $2000, still happy! And still a bit shocked for ever getting in. Have used my card twice a month, always pay in full....balance was zero when I requested.
Good to know that those that barely get in still have a good chance at a 2X CLI at least.
Just some new data to report.
I was initially approved on ED @ 3500. Declined for instant CLI. Scores were in the 680's.
Waited 90 days and received 3X to 10500. Scores in 740-750 range.
This is the sixth month from my CLI and I was afraid to ask for more than 25K with my salary based on what I've been reading here. Could include DH's, but I really don't want to have to provide tax returns if asked. Took the chicken route hoping for a counter at least and asked 31K which is $500 less than 3x my limit. Instantly approved for 31K. Score says 750.
This is now my highest card by 10K. Wish I would have asked for more when I took a HP for my CSP increase the other day.
Got instant approval for $10k today on the BCE. In 61 days is it a bit crazy to ask for $30k (3X CLI)? Should I just go for it regardless? Any opinions on this?
I applied for an AMEX Platinum Delta SkyMiles card and was instantly approved for $2000.00. Upon receiving the card in the mail, I called in to activate the card and immediately asked for a 3X CLI. I was instantly approved for $6000.00 YMMV and I hear that requesting over 25k may trigger income verification. It seems that the 60 day waiting period is no longer in effect, as has been widely reported.
