Do I have to wait until late July (180 days) to apply for a CLI on the SPG, or should I still be eligible in mid-May (61 days)? I understand that if I transfer some of the limit from my Blue to SPG, this does not reset the 180 day clock. Does it reset the 61 day clock? Thanks!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, K. You gotta do 180 days hard time. Your release date is July.
Awww. Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll earn my spend bonus by loading up my commissary fund haha. I'll do a CL transfer between the cards after the Blue closes next and before the SPG closes for the first time.
What's the general consensus on asking for a CLI when activating a new card? I was just approved for the BCE card with a SL of $1000, and the rep over the phone told me I can ask for an CLI when I activate the card. I keep seeing posts saying to wait until the 61 day mark. Should I ask for it once I activate the card?
Some folks report success when asking at activation.
Question. What happens if someone is at 34.5k with Amex and they app for a new card, would it get declined or would they request the FR, 4506t, etc? Assuming this person would fall under the typical 35k threshold.

I might be wrong, but I think both cards involved in the limit swap have to be 13 months old before you can move limits... At the very least, the card you're moving the limit from has to be 13+ months before you can make the move.
I think this may be subjective...
I just xfer a portion of my limit from my BCE to my new Delta Skymiles card on Wednesday, the day I received/activated the card and my BCE is only 11 months old. I've read posts on other sites where others have done the same with both cards being under a year old.

That was my experience as well. I transferred the limit from my Delta card, and that has only been open since May. I also saw some people say that AmEx is now requiring at least $1k to be left on the card but I was able to transfer all but 500 bucks off of it.
