@Anonymouswrote:Does anyone know if your CLI day (61, 181, whatever) falls on a weekend if it matters if you go ahead and do the request or if you should wait until Monday? I'm assuming it doesn't matter, as the system is automated and will give you an automatic approval if it's time and it's there for you. I just figured I'd ask to be sure. This Saturday is marked on my calendar for my next Amex CLI request and it's the first time it hasn't fallen on a weekday.
Shouldn't matter. I've done atleast 2 CLI's on a Sunday afternoon and they got approved so it works on weekends too.
@Gmood1It doesn't matter BBS. Most of my Amex CLIs have come on a Sunday.
I figured as much, thanks for verifying that. Looks like this Saturday is the day for me. Going to go with my usual shoot high and back it down in $1k increments until I get an instant approval. Let's see how many envelopes I'll have in my mailbox next week..
My 3rd Amex CLI opportunity is less than 2 weeks away, and I would like to get some feedback on what kind of CL I should shoot for.
FICO's: EX (2) 745, TU (3) 749
Income = ~$57k
1% utilization, no baddies
Oldest acct = 20 mo, AAoA = 16 mo
(6/16) CapOne QS @ $1.35k CL, <1% util
(9/16) Deferred Student Loan @ $6.5k, 98% util
(1/17) AMEX BCP @ $9k CL, <1% util
(3/17) Discover It @ $2.6k CL, <1% util
I started at $1k, went to $3k, then to $9k all within about 13 months. I don't want to go through the hassle of filling out a 4506-T. I want a CL at or above $15k.

Good Luck BBS. I tried mine last week and got a $4K CLI without IV. I know HeavenOhio mentioned that you follow the same MO as I did. I'm curious to know of others results. Do report back.

Based off of your scores and current CL, I would go the full 3x route and ask for $27K. Amex usually doesnt ask for income verification until $35K. Aim high and you can always manually lower your asking limit from there until you're auto approved. Good Luck.
I am planning on apping CSP tomorrow morning, so hopefully that inquiry and decrease in AAoA doesn't tank my score so Amex doesn't see me 3x CLI worthy.

How exactly does that work?
I've seen numerous references to people "backing-it out (I'm guessing of the CLI request)" or "lowering the asked for increase". I've never has an AMEX card directly and never asked for a CLI increase before. Do you just get disapproved and keep applying, or does it give you a tentative decision and the opportunity to lower the request?

I replied to you in another thread suggesting that you take 2 of your current reported card balances down to $0 prior to apping the CSP. Totally your choice, though. If you do decide to go that route, it may cause you to have to wait a couple of weeks to app the CSP. That could actually be a good thing, as your Amex CLI then wouldn't have any knowledge of a potential EX inquiry from Chase. I also think taking your number of cards with reported balances from 3 of 3 down to 1 of 3 (implementing AZEO) can only be a positive thing when it comes to your Amex CLI request as well as your CSP app.
I agree with those above that have said to ask for the full 3X CLI, $27k.

Your got a nice enough income for them having no issue giving you 25k next time around, imho, from what I’ve read. Go for it, shoot for the moon man!! They’ll counter if they don’t agree. If you get the 4506 back out and go down 1k to 500. They’ll approve you. You don’t need to put thousands of dollars through each month to get a cl like that.
