Ok I understand, have you at least checked this? Guessing a denial, but never know unless you check..

Ah, I didn't think to check the approval status site...
Just checked, yep, denial: "Currently we are unable to offer you a credit card issued by Barclays Bank Delaware. Details on why we could not make you a credit offer will be mailed to you."
That's OK... I'm still in good shape.
I seem to do my apps in 'batches', which I guess works out well since the accounts age together and the inquiries fall off at the same time. Since the accounts I've added over the last few weeks/months will "crash' my AAoA for a while, I've been trying to think if there was anything that would be desirable to get before 'hunkering down' for the long haul, but I can't think of anything. I guess it's a good problem to have... LOL

I got 'brave', and pulled the trigger on the Sallie Mae... got the 7-10 day letter message. Not a huge surprise, as I've opened quite a few accounts in the last year. While it would have been nice, I consider myself fortunate to have the cards I've not now, considering this time a year ago the only major card I carried was the Quicksilver One, with a credit line of $1720.
After the slight let-down, I went over to the Care Credit site and figured, "What the heck...". After completing the info and hitting the button, there was a pause, then a screen telling me they needed to further verify my identity. I clicked 'next' and was taken to a series of questions. The first asked what cars I had owned (I vaguely remember having one of them back in the 90s), the second ask me to choose a company I had been 'affiliated with'... easy enough, and the third question gave me the name of one of my brothers, and asked me for his month of birth... talk about specific! I'm pretty certain I answered correctly, but the next screen told me they had to verify (yet) more information, and gave me an application number and a phone number to call.
I was thinking there was a going to be a problem... after all, I *just* got the Sam's a week ago, and I just app'd for the SM literally minutes earlier, and both are TU pullers. As silly as it sounds, I actually considered just not calling, and waiting to see if they would eventually send it through, or maybe just send me a letter. But then, I put on my 'big shorts' and made the call; surprisingly, the lady was in the US, and was quite pleasant. I told her I had an application number (she didn't answer by asking for it) and after keying it in she asked for my name, there was a lengthy pause and I could hear 'furious' keystrokes, and again feared there were issues... finally, she asked me for my cell phone number, and explained she needed to send me a text for ID verification. The text was sent, I confirmed the number, and after a few moments she told me she had "Good news"... I was approved with a credit line of $8K. Surprisingly, she offered to give me the account number over the phone... I accepted, and made a note of it.
So, one out of two isn't that bad... and I think I'm done for a bit now. With Discover my Amazon shopping is covered through the end of the year, and after that I'll still have the BCP to use for Amazon GCs as well as groceries. The Sallie Mae would have been nice - and will be nice when I eventually get it - but for now I have plenty of ways to 'work around' my other cards to effectively get the same rewards.
Thanks to all who offered advice on this... your help and words of wisdom are invaluable!
Note: I know it's possible to recon the Sallie Mae, but I already know what the problem is, and from reading different threads here I already have an excellent idea what the end result would be anyway. When the time is right, I'll just try again
Congrats! You got what you really needed for now. The Sallie Mae card would have been gravy! Lol! And the care credit was for much more than what you anticipated you needed. WTG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks, Rosey! That's the way I see it as well... I consider today a 'success', and the past week a *huge* success!
