I should have waited a few months before I applied for Cash+, but jumped the gun. I applied, thought I was instantly approved and was extatic. Got a message quoting me, I think, a credit line and apr. Then I checked my email later that day and noticed a 7-10 business day email, or as I like to call it, the kiss of death.
I then called in to underwriting. One underwriter told me it looked like I was good to be approved. Then I called another one and she told me that the message I received was generic and she could not tell if I was good to go, and told me to wait 7-10 days. She got me off the phone as quick as she could at that point. I have a bad feeling. Was really looking forward to having a card that could give 5% back on my cell phone bill.
Anyone on here have any experience with that screen that lists hypothetical rates and credit lines?
I've never seen a screen give a hypothetical credit line and APR that's a bit odd. Did it say congratulations anywhere?
Maybe the 7-10 days is the processing time to create your account? I'm not that familiar with US Bank sorry But fingers crossed for you!
Thanks. I was half expecting a denial and then the rewards card, which hopefully with good use would put me in line for the Cash + later this year. But when I got that screen I jumped for joy. Don't remember a congratulations. But pretty much disregarded everything once I saw the credit line detail and assumed I was in.
Usually their approvals say that additional underwriting may be needed and if they need anything they'll contact you in seven to ten days. I don't know if that's what you saw or what. Some people have said that they got approved for something and the underwritiers later slashed the limit or declined it completely. I've never had anything happen with me but everyone is different.
The accompanying email read, "Your application will be subject to further verification. You will be receiving additional info in the mail in 7-10 business days. Thank you for choosing US Bank."
Again, once I saw the credit line on the screen, I thought, "cool" and didn't look at anything else.
Us Bank is notoriously slow and methodical in their decisions but they are pretty easy to work with once you are in....Good Luck!!
Has anyone had success reconning with USBank?
Sorry to pester you, but what is the process of a recon? Do I start now or wait for an official denial? And who exactly do I need to talk to or request to speak to?
