Thinking of applying for Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®

So, just on Friday, got approved for CSR with a 28k limit.

Wife works for American Airlines, so having those two cards seem the best way to gain access to lounges, as well as enjoying the benefits of CSR.

I am also have an upgrade offer for Amex platinum from Amex gold, but I dont think I will keeping this card, once the time comes for annual fee which is in July 2018 sometime.

Scores were in the highs 770s, pre HP from chase, last Friday, no baddies, have 2 cards with Amex ( 1 charge, 1 revolver), 1 card with Barclays and chase freedom ( will have the CSR soon with them too).

Annual income is  100k per year with a mortgage and car loan.

Current CC utilization is ~16%, but this should drop, once the CSR starts reporting.

Only applied for CSR CC since the last 2-3 years, other than that, I have a car loan with chase, that is  more than 1 year old.

Mortgage is with WF, and that is roughly 2.5 years old.

What are my odds for approval for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®?

I tried Citi's prequal website, and it didnt show up with that card, but did show up with 3 other cards.

Thanks

Given the information that you've shared, your odds seem to be pretty good.

I've had this card for almost 2 years and I definitely enjoy the AA lounge benefits as one of the main perks.

Let us know the outcome!

With this card, are you able to bring in a spouse and/or a child, as a primary cardholder, or does my spouse need to have her own card to gain access?

Yes, you absolutely can.

Optionally, in the event that they travel without you, they can be added as AUs to your account so they can enjoy the AA lounge benefit.

Awesome, thanks

Another question, what bureau does citi HP pull for this card ( also is it 1 or 2 HP, as im reading conflicting things) ?

Since I got approved for CSR, does they pull the same CC bureau's?

Is there a nice flow chart for citi, incase I have to call their recon line, when I get the 30 day message online, or any tips/tricks to be aware of with citi, when applying online?

Great questions. Citi typically pulls EX for me (OH/FL) but this can be a YEMV scenario depending on where you live. Other folks have reported EQ.

The Credit Pulls database can provide a bit of a barometer depending on the region as far as which CR *could* be used.

My Citi apps always yield with a number to contact them to finish the processing of the application (i.e. I have high exposure with them 😇).

Some folks may get that similar message (not necessarily due to high exposure but rather some verification) and/or the generic 7-10 processing message, which does not mean a decline in a variety of outcomes.

I'm thinking you may yield an instant approval?

Im tempted to pull the plug lol..

Would you know when the AF gets posted, is it right after i activiate the card or after 1 year?

Lastly, have you been able to access any of the oneworld lounges overseas, when you flew AA codeshare? I am reading on FF that the card doesnt provide access to OW lounges, but on citi website, it clearly states:

"An Admirals Club®membership includes access to other airline lounges and clubs with which American Airlines may have reciprocal lounge or club access privileges."

But on oneworld site it says:

"American Airlines AAdvantage® members, regardless of their tier status or class of travel, are not eligible for lounge access when travelling solely on North American flights within or between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean."

IIRC, the AF typically posts within the 1st billing statement since it's not waived for the first year.

As far as OW lounges, I was able to use that benefit at one point on a code-shared flight, but it does depend on the agreement that AA has with their code-share partner for those specific lounges.

Most international destinations where I've traveled have an AA lounge, but it all depends where you'll be transiting through.

I know im asking alot of questions, but wanted to make sure if this card is the right fit, before I jump on it.

Thanks @FinStar for being helpful so far.

Would certainly love to hear any other feedbacks about applying with citi with my OP, and chances of instant approval.

Anytime. That's what we're here for.

Off hand I can think of one forum member @Anonymous who has this card, plus I'm sure there's a few others who can share some data points so as to make a more informed decision before you pull the trigger.
