Re: Three cards in two days?

I was approved for  3 cards in 1 day 10 weeks ago.

But considering the uptick in account closures. I will be gardening until the situation is improving.

I like what I have, and I am usually an agressive credit seeker. But this is not the environment for it.

I need to garden anyway, and this is a great time to do it.

I am not willing to risk what i have for what i want.

I got 2 card in one day last week. Apple (3k) and Disc (4k). I also applied for a Regions Bank pre approved for (4K), which is still pending.🤞🏽

@SDMarik

Super Congrats on your Discover and Citi approvals! Smiley Very Happy

If you don't already have an Amex card, your app will be an EX hard pull.

But if you do have an Amex card, your next app should be an EX soft pull.

Either way, your potential Amex Gold/Platinum tradeline won't appear on

your credit reports for 60 days. It's better that all of your new cards age together

for CLI approvals/APR decreases down the road. Just something to think about.

Congrats again on your approvals, and keep us posted on what you decide to do. Smiley Very Happy

OP just keep in mind that the soft pull is YMMV, but from what I've seen most have been able to get it if you're already with Amex Smiley Happy

But agreed go for it before your new accounts report Smiley Happy

But agreed

I was wondering if anyone had gotten three card approvals from three seperate companies in 24 hours?

I applied last night for two cards and got approved for them both:

Discover It CL $15,000 aor 17.9%

Citi Double cash CL $9,000 apr 18.99%

They both pulled EX and discover also pulled EQ.

I want to apply for an Amex gold/platinum, but am worried the 2 inquries yesterday might throw it off. Those are the only 2 inquiries on my CR, and the only two in the last two years.

Decent income, no rent/mortgage expense. Current utilization is 7%

All of my Ficos are 700-710.

Any thoughts?

It is not even really uncommon to get 3 approvals in a day. You might want to refrain from any more apps for a while though. Too many inqueries in a short time frame does tend to make issuers nervous. Many members here have pushed the edge of the envelope on what they can get approved for. Some have over 100 credit cards. I only have about 20 over about 10 years of time. I can't even imagine trying to keep closely monitoring 100 cards. I am not critisizing those who do, it is just not for me.
