Time in between Citi cli requests

I was just denied for a CLI on my Citi Costco card. I tried exactly 6 months after my first CLI. I know some card one has to wait 90 days between CLI attempts. I was thinking of appliend in a little over a month when a few cards, and HP’s age a year.

thanks

Andy

What were the reasons cited for the CLI denial?

Here is what the letertr said:

We can’t increase your credit limit
Thanks for contacting us about an increase for your Costco Anywhere Visa®
account. We reviewed your request, and unfortunately, we can’t approve it.
How we made our decision
This request was processed by a credit scoring system that assigned a
numerical value to various items on your credit report. The information
didn’t score a sufficient number of points for approval. We’ve denied your
request for an increase due to the following reason(s):
Ÿ Insufficient length of credit history.
Ÿ Lack of recent installment loan information.

Citi used Equifax based on the letter. Between the time i applied for The CLI and this coming May 24th 3 cards will age a year and 5 HP's will gae a year on equifax ( one was from verizon wirless and one wass from ATT uverse.)

When I inittily applied I was an AU on my father's Citi credit card, and it had an age of 18 years, and a good CU. but a little later on my father passed away, and from my understanding, legeally i was requried to cancel the card, cause if i still used it it would have been CC fraud. his drasticly droped my avrege age of acounts.

So, it sounds like your profile just need some aging to eventally qualify for the CLI again.  What was the original SL and what is the current CL?

Sorry to hear about your father's passing btw.  I can only imagine how difficult this must've been.   Did the [Citi] AU account get removed from your CRs completely or does it reflect as a closed account?

Re: Time in between Citi cli requests

The orignal sl was $8,500, i got a $2,000 cli 6 months adter opening the card. To a cl of $10,500. I also updated ny income with a nearly $40,000 increase in income (i use the agi from my tax returns, which was just short of 6 figures). The au account has been totally removed from all 3 credit reports.

Re: Time in between Citi cli requests

Ok, so it appears the last CLI wasn't too bad given your starting CL.  It's unfortunate, but given the acceptable circumstances, that the AU account got removed since the AAoA definitely took a bit of a hit for sure.  I would say wait another 3 months and see whether the SP language reappears and try again at that point.
