Time to app?

Hey All,

Been a bit since I've posted. Busy, busy, busy. So, I've been wanting the discover miles card. I also am now considering switching my netflix membership to an amazon prime membership and using their video service, plus start ordering all my dog food and numerous things I'll continue to need for me dog and brand new puppy. The store I go to is just getting too expensive.

So, I haven't apped for a card since April of 2016. I was approved for 5 cards last year, closed one.. a barclaycard. I have 5 open lines.

Chase freedom: 0/3500
Chase freedom unlimited: 1730/4000. Just made payment, but that's is what reported.
Boa cash rewards: 530/6700
CU card: 0/5000
All those open 2016
Les schwab acct: 7 years? Had car work and it just stayed open.
Closed acct: 8yr boa card
Barclaycard maybe mos

No cc late payments ever

Installments:
Student loans: 1 open 7 yr or so good payments
One closed. Same history. New company took it over
One closed 3.5 yr car loan.
One open car loan. Opened in sept.

Inquiries : I think 5 or under for each cra. Some for cc apps, increase, car loan, and apt app.

I have 2 med collections from 2012, but I had a 3rd that just fell off my ex and tu report. I don't have the updated scores yet.

Last scores I have are:
Ex: 686
Tu: 696
Eq: 673

Should I wait another month to let cards pay off and report, or is utl ok right now? I have lots of vet visits coming up and would like to use the discover miles card for the 0 apr and 3% back. When I use their report thing, it somewhat gives me a preapproval for the IT. Arp range 13 something to 16 something. I considered amex, they've sent me a lot lately and I seem to prequal for all the cards, but really want discover.

I also have an offer for the csp, which is my dream card. But I can't do the 4k spend right now. Vet is a lot right now, but not that much. I don't haveuch travel coming up right now, so will probably wait a year on it. By that time, be under 5/24 anyway.

So experts, what do you think? Is waiting a month going to help that much? I expect score to go up a bit, but don't know. Are these scores good enough?

Hey Roo, nice to see ya back. I d imagine you would get your approvals now but if you feel your reports would look better in a month, might as well wait one more. Youve waited this longSmiley Happy. Hope all is well and you get some nice clsSmiley Happy

Re: Time to app?

Hi, Joe! Was hoping I'd hear from you. I'd like to start using the cards now. The collection is gone, so that helps, I just haven't seen the results yet. Just waiting for my boa fico to update, but the score changes would have happened by now. Not sure how much lowering my utl is going to change things. Maybe a few points. Still just at 11% total. So, perhaps it doesn't really matter now or feb

Re: Time to app?

Lol, yeah i understand the waiting for Boa to update that darn fico. Mine is supposed to update on the 19th and we are going on 23rd. Big congrats on the collection falling off. Im sure youll see a nice difference in NOT seeing it on your report. I forget are you going for the Sync card or the Chase Amazon?. Cant wait to see you get your dream cardSmiley Happy. If you dont want to wait another month once your fico updates let the lions roarSmiley Happy

Re: Time to app?

Mine is supposed to update the 19th too! Lol. I'd like to do the amazon prime card from chase and discover miles. I'll go for the csp, my dream card, when it gets closer to travel time and I know I can meet the spend. Maybe fall, if it is still in my offers. Otherwise, next year when under 5/24. Nothing else I want to go for at this point.

Re: Time to app?

Thats great. I was wondering on your dream card as i believe you said you approved for 5 cards last year so wasnt sure when you'd be eligble. The Chase Amazon seems like a great card to have. I may get it one day to put my foot in the door with Chase. Discover Miles will be great for you so i hope they hook uou up with a usable limit. Definitely keep us posted once you see your new FicoSmiley Happy
