I was approved for the Chase Sapphire Preffered on 3/6/15 with a $5,000 credit limit. In the 3 months that I have had the card I have never been charged initerest due to paying off balances and have used the card like crazy.
My scores are fairly good and should go up next time Chase reports to the credit bureaus (I had a blanace when they last reported and now that balance is no longer there). Do y'all think that it's still too soon to try and apply for the Chase Freedom, or do you think I won't be approved?
Thank you!

Hi S0thernH0spitallity,
I hope I can help, but anyone else that reponds, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I currently have a Chase Slate and Freedom card, and tried to apply for the Chase Sapphire card, but was told that I had applied for too many accounts. They said to wait 2 years to apply again. Now, I'm not sure of your situation. If you don't have too many accounts, then I really don't see a problem with applying for the Sapphire card, however, if you have a ton of accounts, it's better to hold off and not get the hard pull.
I created a thread with my conversation with the Chase credit analyst indicating that their policy is to look at account totals. I have 25, so that puts me out for awhile.
Hope this helps!

As long as you don't have more than 5 new accounts in the past 2 years, you will be approved.
Thanks for that info Baller. Heard rumours, but it is now 5 accounts. That is kind of rough

Wow. Two years? Not a very good business model for Chase, to penalize existing Chase Credit Card holders, who have been already vetted.

I didn't think about that! Well, nothing I can do, I suppose.
Here's the link to the thread about the Credit Analyst letting me know of the policy changes, if anyone is interested.
Thanks for the link
I was approved for $6,000!
I only had 4 lines of credit open before this one. Excited to get to use the Freedom in conjunction with my Sapphire.

That will be a Visa Signature to boot. Congrats
I thought it was 5 lines of credit with the same bank?
