I was denied earlier this year, letter stated my TU fico 04 was 744 but I had lots of new accounts/ inquiries.

What is even weirder, US Bank really hates me, they denied me a checking account online while I have no bad past with checking/ bank accounts.

Go figure, the same thing happened to me and I went into a US Bank Branch mad and they worked with me no sweat with no hassles. The online reached out to me a few days later by phone and I told them where to put their online.

Re: Too many NEW accounts / inq for US Bank

I could not get in with US bank either! I opened the chase account in April intead. I have long terrible past with chase. I used to overdraft like crazy like an idiot 19 year old, oh wait I was an idiot 19 year old! my coworker has US bank and he had a repossession. Nothing iN his name, like he was almost hiding, and they gave him an account a secured card and a credit card within 6 months

it's hard not to take it personal especially when you see others around you have no issues. we don't need to pay for report to know where we screw up but when there's grey area we always want to think we will get the thumbs up

Us Bank is tough... Got my denial letter yesterday of my recon of initial SL.. Only two reasons were to many new accounts and less than 6 months with US Bank CC..  Lame.. Fico 710 out of 843 I believe...

So stuck with a 1k CL until I either don't open any more accounts for 6 months or give them 6 month history...Basically stuck with 1k for 6 months lol

Yeah as long as you're clear with Chex Systems over the last 5 years that is all that is normally required for a checking account.

I wouldn't even deal with their Flex Perks card.

But you're "in".  So, yes, you'll have to eat gummy bears for a while instead of the nice big dinners until it grows.  Honeslty, you'd be surprised how quickly time can fly.  Literally, just from a time perspective, 5 months ago to the day I applied for Ritz when that big thread started to evolve.  So, time will definitely help.  US Bank has been great to me IME.  3 cards later (Kroger, Cash+, FlexPerks), no complaints Smiley Happy

One nice thing about it.. Put 200 through it this weekend as I plan on doing about 400 a month through it so I show them a bit of love and show then a "decent" amount of the credit limit.  Since I bank with US Bank it instantly took it from my US Bank account and have the available credit available immediately...  Guess that makes it more useable as my first payment was today for the 200 that I put on it this weekend.  I think 400 out of 1000 a month should be enough to hopefully get it to grow along with time as well..  Need to still show my CSP/SM and ED most of the love.

Also just a side question, it reports the balance at the end of the month is that correct?  I could of sworn US Bank does something weird like that so whatever posted on the CC for this month ending on the 31st will report on the CRs?  Correct?  Thanks!

P.S. Gummy Bears are expensive these days, especially at the movie theatres! Smiley Tongue

Re: Too many NEW accounts / inq for US Bank

Sorry about that.  I'm waiting the entire year since my app spree before I try.  I know they'll still be there for another year but I hope my good history will get me an approval by then.

Re: Too many NEW accounts / inq for US Bank

U.S. Bank is a great Bank but very conservative. They don't like people who apply for a lot of new accounts at once as it makes it seem there desperate for credit and normally ends in a denial. Stay in the garden for awhile and I'm sure you'll get approved with a good limit. They have me 15k on my first card.

Yes, IME (and for most folks who have US Bank personal CCs) they report at the end of the month (not when the statements cycles) - yes, they're odd Smiley Tongue

So, to counteract their EOM reporting methods, I've set all my due dates for all 3 CCs to the 28th of each month (statement then cycles aorund the ~2nd each month).  This way, everything is timed properly for my spending patterns and payments without having any "off-cycle" reporting instances.

I get gummy bears in bulk Smiley Tongue
