Hey guys! I was just wondering how many inquiries in 2 months is considered a lot? I recently applied and was approved for a Suncoast secured card $500, Discover Secured Card $300, Capital One credit card $500, and a Citi Thankyoupreferred card $3,200. I was also denied for an Amex Everyday card. I applied for these cards in a span of 2 months and was wondering if that's too many applications in a short period of time? Thanks. Oh yea, and the reason I applied for so many is that my credit score has been going up like crazy due to new credit as I have not had a credit card in years.
731 EQ, 714 EX, 646 TU
Anyone?
It looks like a lot, but once you separate them by the reports that were pulled for each card, it is not too bad at all.
Hi, with Sunday being Football day.. sometimes it can take a minute for someone to see your post and respond.
Most lenders look at overall inquiries. You've got a good start with your secured cards and that Citi card for sure.
Inquiries for the last 6 months have the highest impact. After 6 months they start to impact your scores less and after 12 they shouldn't have any affect on your scores (however lenders will still see them for up to 24 months)
What will have the greatest impact from your inquiries will be the reporting of the new accounts. Being new to credit it may become overwhelming and exciting all at the same time but I cannot reiterate enough what I said above that you have a fantastic start and appear to have chosen wisely.
I wouldn't be too concerned with whaty ou've done so far.
Also want to add..
What is the situation with your TransUnion report and the score variance?
I have no idea. When I look at my Transunion score from Capital One...it says it's 700 but my FICO score says 646. Weird.
Should I apply for one more card or do you think I am good to go for now? I am also planning on financing a car in February and want to definitely have the best scores possible. I know once I get that car loan my credit scores will dip.
I feel once you purchase that automobile your credit scores will improve . this will give you a better mix of credit .

Check your Discover card for your actual TU FICO (or Barclaycard if you end up getting one of these). The Capital One Credit Tracker is reported to be not exactly accurate.
You can also pull all 3 FICO scores here on myfico. ![]()
