Travel cc application

Bankcard08 scores

E 724

TU 726

EX 687

Util is at 30% on one CC (NFCU), the others have zero balance

2 car loans (only 6 months old) and mortgage never late

Inquiries are from auto loans 6 months ago

One late from about 4 years ago, that loan is paid off.

Income 70k, employed same job 12 yrs.

I am going to do some travelling and I'd like to take advatage of the miles offered ith Delta or AA. If Delta uses EX then that is my lowest score. Im not sure which cra AA uses. Any idea what my chanes of approval might be with either cc?

Re: Travel cc application

what's your overall util on all accounts? I know amex delta pulls EX and might be bit forgiving with your current stats., specially with delta gold.

Re: Travel cc application

Do you already have an Amex card? If so, then any application after the first is an SP. If you can, I would bring your balance from 30% to 27%, that should drop you under one threshold which should give you a 10-20 point boost. Citi owns AA cards and tends to pull EX/EQ. Citi may be a little tougher to get with though. IMHO - I would go with Delta.

Re: Travel cc application

I believe it is State dependent on what agency pulls from where, but for the most part it is as follows:
Delta is with Amex and usually pulls from EX
AA has both Citi and Barclays,
Citi uses EX/EQ,
Barclays uses TU/EX.
In my case Barclays only pulled from my TU report.
Do you have any TL's with any of the above companies? If so that would help your chances it all probability.

Re: Travel cc application

I guess I need to edit my original statement. Total util (on one card) is at about 30% until the 8th when it should drop below 30% after a payment posts.

I do have Barclays Apple Reward card. Paid in full and I do use it. Then I have Target, Vic Secret, Old Navy, Kohl's all paid in full no late pays.

I live in Iowa, if it is state dependent.

Re: Travel cc application

If you are happy with Barclays and they are happy with you, then the AAdvantage Aviator Red is offering a 60k sub with first purchase plus payment of the $95 AF.
I'm not sure if they would do HP as you are already a customer, but I always assume that they do.
The SUB is what got me (only 50K at the time), so much easier to get than the Citi AAdvantage one. (SUB not card)

Thanks for pointing this out. Time to shoot off a secured message to see if they can match my 50k bonus since it's only been 2 weeks.
