I recently over the weekend (Friday-Sunday) App spreed and got quite a few nice cards; Barclays Arrival+, CSP, Slate, Cap1 Siggy Quicksilver, Discover it.
I'd really like to round out the Chase family by getting a Freedom card so I can transfer points to the CSP. The problem is, is I'm worried about spooking Chase and Barclays with another HP, or will Chase simply use the one on file and not report the inquiry. If they do, will they get peeved at 3 apps in a month? I used to have the Freedom card and called asking to re-open the account but they said I'd have to re-app. I asked the CSR supervisor since I have two approvals with them recently if they'd prefer me to wait and she said I should just go ahead and re-apply anyways.
Thoughts?
I'd wait at least another month. It's common to get two on one pull but you'll be pushing your luck with a third application. Should have applied for the Freedom instead of the Slate :-/

Yeah, I thought that as well. Wanted to take advantage of the balance transfer which would make a PIF on AMEX and create a nice relationship with Chase on trusting me paying down on that line.
I'll just wait I think. The wave of success was kind of overwhelming too. Can't let it go to my head!

True, it can be very tempting. You don't even have to wait that long.
I would wait a month.. Might spook them, also be another HP..

If your score is good and the inquiries are spread out, go for it. The trick is the accounts are not reporting yet on your report. If you wait for the new cards to show then the is higher chance of denial. That is how I app. before capture of a spree. But everyones profile is different. Keep us posted on result and all the best.
None have reported yet. Although even with that in mind, I think I'll wait a little while.
The rewards points would be great but credit is like a jenga game. Trying for more usually results in things falling over if you're not careful.

That is also a good decision. If you are going to wait, then make it be worth it. Give it at least 2-3 months. With Chase, the next cards should have a much bigger limit. Enjoy your new cards.
I had best luck with chase with waiting 30 days between credit pulls. I got Marriot, Amazon Visa, and lastly AARP almost to the day of 30 days apart.
Hi,
I had applied for 3 chase cards (CSP, Hyatt and Marriott) on Dec 19th. Was approved for two of them, when I checked with backdoor for the third, they said they had a rule to approve only 2 credit cards in a period of 30 days and told to apply again after Jan 19th.
Hope that helps.
