After reading a few replies I decided to check the Chase pre-approval link just to see. I also think pre-approval links are fun to look at (#appcrazy)
Past couple days, nothing. Then today it says I'm pre-qualified for the Freedom card with the cash back offer and 0%apr and a link for 'Accept Offer'. Do you think this will process through without much of a hiccup?

@Anonymous,
You should be fine. If push come to shove, you can recon it. Will keep fingers crossed for you if you decide to apply
Okay...going for it. Want that UR bonanza.
Aaaaand, 10 day further review as expected. Not outright declined so I'll have to recon in. Felt kinda dirty doing it

pre-quals are usually 99% gold.. Call them, most likely verification... On sticky of this forum for backdoor #'s.. Call the UW/Recon/Anlyst one, whatever it is called
Recon - declined for too many inquiries. Three was far too many. She offered to move credit from one card to another but my payment on the slate transferred balance hasn't posted yet so she couldn't move the 500 over to open the freedom. Blah, oh well it was only one HP overall to Chase I believe since the Slate and CSP were done on Friday.
Knew I should have waited. Goal is to hit the mid 700's by the end of the year and have a Ritz in hand since my work has me travelling and I usually book myself at Marriot.
Oh the bitterness of defeat lol. Gonna go wallow in some cheesecake
Going to try the Nixon strategy.
Tried 1 recon yesterday and failed. The only reason for denial was inquiries, everything else is fine. The automated status line still says under review.
Going to try again today. I'd rather not do a CLD from my slate to open it either. They did do a new HP so I don't want to waste that.
Any tips from recon pros at getting a 3rd card opened from Chase? What angle should I approach the conversation from?
I've had three chase cards before. Chase Sw in August, AARP in October and the ritz in December. Waiting two or three months between apps has gotten me good results.

From my experience, this is how to do the call:
Start the call by saying: "Hello, I have a credit score of 7__ (only if you have more than 700) according to ____ (whichever credit bureau) and I was preapproved for the card you are applying for. I donno why but I was not instantly approved for the card, even though I was pre-approved for it. I have a relationship with Chase from ___ and could you check why the application was not approved?"
Still they may tell you the 3 card limit per month. I think moving CLs should be the last option after atleast 3 recon calls.
Recons on fridays work nicely, so try it today itself.
Waiting for what happened in the call.
