@4sallypat I keep getting Cash+ invitation codes. I got my Altitude Go off an invitation code, then product changed my Platinum card to Cash+. But, I still get Cash+ invitations (got one on Wednesday, actually). I was told what you were told above, that its marketing, but at the time of the pre-screen you met their qualifications.
I may just wait for a Connect invitation code. Oh well.
@Anonymous Congrats on the approval for Connect!
They pulled TransUnion for my Platinum card in March 2020 and then they pulled TransUnion again for my Atltitude Go card in August. So, I would expect TransUnion.
As for geo-location, I have a U.S. Bank right down the street from me.
For what it's worth, I'm not sure anybody really knows what determines what bureau they pull.
I'm not in their footprint (no branches in my state) and yet they've pulled TU for each of my three cards (the most recent was back in May). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I applied for three cards until now with US Bank, including Altitude Connect, and all had manual review. In this case and if you have excellent profile (e.g. 780+ score with minimized HP), I do not know whether having prequal offer would change anything except possible approval
. Due to manual reviews, I also do not expect that applying in branch can have an impact.
I did not have any prior offer on Cash+ and I submitted a cold application (no prior relationship). It was approval, after manual review. I had also prequal offer on Connect but when I wanted to apply, the website was buggy and therefore, I applied via phone
. Not sure whether prequal had any impact but again, it was approval, after manual review (taking ~3-5 business days; they double checked whether I submitted the application by calling me directly). The card looks excellent with high SUB and I hope, US Bank adds more perks and deals.
