Finally, I decided to apply for US Bank Altitude Connect. It has 50k SUB (euivalent to 500$), 30$ entertainment credit and its 95$ AF is waived in the first year.
When I wanted to send application, the US Bank website was not working correctly (very buggy). Since the branch appointments need to get scheduled ~24-48h in advance, I decided to call US Bank customer service and send application. I was thinking that calling the bank to send application would be similar to in branch (getting response right a way), but I ended up receiving an "application under further verification" response and the operator said that I will receive additional information in ~7-10 business days.
Waiting for ~2 weeks for additional information looks very long. Is there a recommendation to expedite the application? Is it a potential rejection?
I also recently applied for the US bank cash plus and have been calling for days and it's still under review so I'm guessing US Bank is doing a bunch of manual underwriting these days and are behind ....Everytime I called they said I didn't have to give any other information and I have to wait 3-5 business days ....I applied Online
I called the under writing department but they were closed early, seem to work in CST or EST time (they also work only during week days Mon-Fri).
Tomorrow morning, I will call again another department to see whether they need any additional information, otherwise I have to wait untill Monday morning. I guess this waiting period is only to verify that the applicant really submitted the application. Their email says that "you submitted an application and if you did not do it, call this number ASAP otherwise, you ignore the email". It looks strange but I think, they are waiting for a possible complaint call back and if they do not receive such a call within ~2-3 days, they proceed to approve the application. If they wanted to deny it, I guess they could do it immediately.
I have an urgent costly maintenance appointment at the end of next week and it is great that I receive this card ASAP (need expedite shipment).

I'm hoping that's the case for my app as well lol .....Getting in with US Bank is the last piece to the puzzle for me
For US Bank, several people recommend to have a prior relationship by e.g. opening a checking account and afteward, submiting a CC application. You may consider this wise recommendation.
Anyway, at the time that I wanted to submit application for Cash+ some years ago, there was no SUB for checking account. Therefore, I decided to submit a cold CC application and by chance it got approved (took ~3 weeks to receive the card). After a few months, US Bank offered SUB to open a checking account and I used it.
I tried to open a savings account with them a month ago and they told me they don't service my area and wouldn't let me open the account when I put in my zip code.
I guess there isn't any branches near me ....Hope that doesn't stop the credit app

You can get around this by opening a brokerage account with them first- then open a checking or savings.
I applied for this card yesterday and also received the msg that they are in the process of reviewing my application. I am pretty hopeful that this will be an approval because when I applied in the past for a Cash+ it was an instant denial.
I called and the application is still in the UW step (will take ~2-3 business days). It is strange that the UW process is manual there. Not approved/not rejected, fingers crossed and pray for the application to get approved
The rep said that they cannot do expedite shipment for the first card. Therefore, with a high probability and if get approved, I cannot get it before weekend. I will call again tomorrow and check with another rep (the operator during the application submission was saying that expedite shipment is feasible).
