Apped for Altitude Reserve two days ago and got the 7-10 day message. Called the status check line early yesterday morning and it said I was unable to be approved. Pressed 1 to talk to a rep to get more details and ask for a recon. She seemed pretty unenthusiastic overall and glossed over the providing details part but said she could forward this on for reconsideration which takes "2-3 days" so I accepted.
My questions are #1 how will I know the result of the recon? Do I need to call or will they call/email or will I just see the account pop up and get the card or get a second denial letter? #2 how long does this usually take? Safe to assume after 30 hours now that my recon was also denied? If so, worth trying again by calling the second UW number instead of the autocheck status line?
Cash+ for 7 months
TU FICO 8 is 772, not sure of FICO 9 but my EX 9 mirrors my EX 8
4 INQ on TU(2 auto from mid 2017, 2 CC from April including the Cash+)
Util showing ~6%
6 new accounts this year, only 2 in past 6 months but both were the past 2 months(assuming this was reason for denial)
OP sorry to hear about the denial. I was about to pull the trigger on that card but since reading yours, I'll skip it.
US Bank is probably the most conservative bank I've seen. The so called "UW Team" you talk to can't do squat, they'll even
tell you that in a nutshell. Everything gets routed to an offline analyst that you can't talk or explain anthying to.
I only have my Cash + card open to get the free money they offer. I get 5% just by paying my cell phone bill which nets me $25 a month.
Other than that, I SD the card and will never use it for any other purpose. Just take the money they offer and run lol.
Thanks guys. That is the number I called so I guess that was the best path.
They are definitely stingy for sure. I do appreciate the Cash+ as I use it for cell phone/utilities and also my gym membership(work reimburses a portion plus I charge my girlfriend's on my card too so I really rack up the savings there) but it also does not leave my nightstand. I got that one without a recon and with more than the 500-1k they seem to give many people without relationships but still my smallest CL.
I have trips to Utah, Paris and Greece coming up in the next 6 months and was ready to put some significant spend on the card but we will see.
I applied for this card last month. I had 5 new accounts in the past year, but waited until they aged and only had 1 in the past 6 months. Although I have never had a credit card with US Bank, I have a 12 year relationship with personal and business checking. My FICO8 scores were 755, although the FICO score they pulled showed as 725. I applied with a banker at my branch and was not immediately approved. Later that day she called and I was approved for $5k. I called and found the abilty to recon to a higher CL somewhat easy. Rather than pushing it, I asked for $10k. She asked what I wanted it for. I told her to travel. She submitted the request and the next day when I logged into my online account, the credit card and CL showed up at $10k.
The number of new accounts within 6 months may have spoked them or it could be the length of your relationship. US Bank is very conservative and not always easy to read. Good luck with your recon.

I did quite a bit of research on this card before applying and seams to be a lot of data about not having new accounts in the last 6 months. I was approved with 0/6, 3/12, 8/24 with a 740 TU Fico 8. Good luck! This is my favorite card used with Samsung pay.
Update: recon was denied as well. Got the letter in the mail, no surprise all stuff related to recent accounts:
-percentage of accts opened in past 24 months too high
-too many recently opened
-average age of accounts
The letter cited they used the FICO 04 Classic which was a bit lower than my previously stated(746).
Good luck to anyone else trying for this, definitely try to be patient if you have recent accounts. No one really pulls TU for me other than USB and Barclays(don't care for many of their offerings other than the Uber that I already have) so the INQ isn't a huge deal.
