Curious - trying to find DPs on those of you who app'ed for a US Bank Cash+ card and were already a US Bank Customer.
It's been mentioned many times that you need to be 0/6 and 1/12 (or even 0/12) to get approvals - but I am curious if USB gives some leeway to their current customers (sorta like BoA with their 3/12 customer 7/12 non-customer rule).
You would *think* USB might cut their own customers some slack.
I don't believe they do.. Someone can correct me if I am wrong though. One would think but they went from handing out Cash+ granted alot with 500$ limits like candy to going to ultra conservative on approvals

They probably got tired of too many MF'ers calling to recon those $500 limits 😂
So I cancelled my checking account in January this year. I had 0/6, 2/12, and 4/24 when I applied for the Discover It Miles, Chase Freedom Flex, and US Bank Altitude Go cards at the same time a week or so ago. The US Bank app sat in limbo for a week, so I called up. They said it would be approved and it was today. Not quite the same, but hopefully helpful info. I do have a rarely used Cash+ card with them though.
While USB has a conservative rep, it probably is YMMV situation depending on your relationship with them. When I apped for a BIZ card I wasn't exactly fresh out of the garden, though I was definitely over Chase's 5/24 rule. Me having an account with BoA is likely what allowed me to get a CC with them as I was definitely over their 3/12. That said, I might have accidentally been in the 0/6 zone when I apped so who knows.
Part of the credit seeking game is taking a chance, and either being shot down or approved. I would say that if you're over 3/6 i definitely would take that chance. Especially in the current economy.

good stuff.
As mentioned previously, I believe is it based on your individual situation. When I applied for the AR two years ago, having a banking relationship for over 20 years, I was over 3/12. I applied in my branch with the app going to manual review. A couple hours later, my banker contacted me with an approval with a $5k sl. I was able to have it increased to $10k the same day with a call and the same hp. A year ago I was approved for a cl of $5k. Not sure if they have become more conservative due to Covid, but I am calling later this week in an attempt for a large cl on the AR.

So sorta on the same topic, I tweet to USB on Twitter today with the following question:
"I am a US Bank Customer - does USB ever send out pre-approved mailers for any of their credit products?"
Their reply:
"Hello, That's a great question. Yes, we do occasionally send out pre-approved mailers to our existing customers, if they have not opted-out of mailed marketing. We're unable to determine when someone will be reviewed for such a mailer, or force them to be sent. If you're interested in any of our credit products, please contact our Relationship Banking Operations group at 800-444-1244. I hope this helps!^Caitlin.."

Actually they are relationship based. Or at least they have been in the past. They did have a "Customer Relationship Score" which would come into play. While getting approved is what it is at a given point in time but the score could assist with an approval. In my case I wanted a Personal Line of Credit and they (CSR) said it would be good to have a year with USB. Well I took the plunge after eight months and the score carried me. Now some Forum members have gotten approvals with just a few days. As has been said, it just all depends. Someone mentioned elsewhere sometimes we need to take the plunge?! Food for thought.
