Do you recall what cra they pulled? And did you get approved online or have to call and recon?
They pulled tu. I was instantly approved for both cards.
Oh all this talk about US Bank cards has me wanting the AR again................
And USB finally has an open branch in Charlotte... since I"ll HAVE to apply in branch (they don't accept apps from South Carolina YET, except for a few select zip codes closer to Charlotte
@Remedios What is it about US Bank that makes you such a fangirl? Other than they "give you what you want." Can you elaborate on it a bit?

Sure
As far as AR, while AF is $400, you get $325 in travel credit, and if you only take into account free wifi passes, you're already ahead.
Mobile wallet earning 3%, 4.5% when redeemed for travel. So it happens that large portion of my spend can be done via Samsung and Google pay, so it really works for me.
Cash+, I typically struggle with any cards with quarterly categories because I have very little spend in common categories other than groceries and restaurants.
With cash+, between cell phone, streaming subscriptions and my awfully high cable bill, maxing the quarter without having to be resourceful is easy.
Banking wise, they are still very much old school. They do like more engaged customers, DDA, investments, etc.
Their bankers are also by far more empowered, so when you hit a snag, they can and do help.
Recently, my 17 year old opened (with my help, of course) student checking and savings. She was assigned a banker at the local branch, and they are "working together towards her future goals".
It's more hands on approach.
While I prefer to do my banking online, without human contact, it's nice to know helpful and courteous human is available should there be a need for one.
Awesome. Thanks Rem!
this is high on my "after mortgage/heloc/whatever we end up with" radar. Another month....
I wish you both good luck and I hope we become US Bank buddies lol
They might make you work for it at first, but once you're in, it's different and to me, very much worth it.
I've gotten increases on both cards, and they weren't bothered by my credit seeking after their approval.
Restriction on new accounts is to weed out those who are only looking for a SUB.
Maybe they will loosen up slightly with new Altitude cards, because it appears they want to capture a bit more of credit card market.
In the end, it's a single pull, so when you're ready, push the button.
@Remedios wrote:Yes, it has a card preapproval, albeit one that would have been useless to me.
It's the last step, I believe there were 7 or 9 tabs to complete.
I opened checking and got Cash+ because I didnt think they would approve AR. While Cash+ didn't seem like a great card to me at the time, it was better than flex perks.
Now, Cash+ is definitely one of my favorite cards that's not travel related. I dont have to get creative to max out categories, and I love the 5% categories they offer.
AR is the current love of my credit life.
I ended up using them for banking also.
In case you didn't notice, I'm US Bank fangirl.
Put in a good word for me then, they don't like me

That Charlotte branch is gonna get hoppin' because if I go for the Connect (I'm thinking about it), I'll have to drive down there for the in-branch application. I'm trying to get my partner to move his banking to USB because I think he'll like it better than his current bank... so we could make it a two-fer trip.
And just for somewhat relevant DPs - my USBank app was met with an EQ hardpull in 2018, and since then, any time I've talked to them, it's been a TU HP... They like to softpull EQ & TU all the time. And I was recently denied a CLI because I had accounts opened in the last 6 months - so it sounds like they definitely do not like new accounts.

I got a second CLI on AR in March, with three accounts under 4 months, and one that was 2 months old.

what is connect? I heard @Remedios mention it in another thread too.
@Anonymous Altitude Connect is future "middle" child in Altitude family of cards.
It hasn't been released yet, allegedly *some time later in the summer*, and initial apps for $500.00 sub will have to be done in the branch.
Its unclear what the sub will be past that
