US Bank DP for CLI if you have a hard pull for another product

Applied for a premier line of credit today and was tagged with a TU hard pull.

I thought i'ld call and see if i could get them to use that pull to get me a CLI with the same pull.

Talked to three different CSR's and they all said it would be a new pull.

This was for the cash plus card.

So i passed, but thought it was a good data point to get out.

US Bank has pretty much been a separate HP pull for everything. Based on my experiences and others that have posted. Note, they used to allow soft inquiries for CLIs of $1,500 or less but of late, that has faded to an HP. Lenders do change from time to time but US Bank has been mostly HP oriented along with their Elan Card Services.

Thanks for the dp. That’s rather annoying to me when they can’t use the same inquiry, same day when it’s the same product basically. I wonder if it would be the same thing in-branch.

Sure, there's a chance they might pull someone else but, why not just go for it while you're taking inquiries so they age together?

A HP really doesn't hurt you that much in the long run vs not getting that additional CL added to your reports.

There's always that off chance that the inq will get reused or at least combined into a single inq for scoring purposes if you do it the same day. 

Sometimes the computers won't / don't pull more than 1 report in a single day as they have been coded that way to prevent CSR's from just tapping the button several times resulting in multiple pulls if their PC is not responding.
