US Bank H-D CC Application

Hi All,

I want to app for the US Bank H-D card, but I would like to know if anyone who has theis card knows what reports are pulled, cra and if they pull ChexSys?  Are there income requirements, what scores they look for?

I have tried some others RBFCU, SDFCU and they pull Chex even if they do not do a hard pull.  I am trying to save myself unneccessary pulls.

I don't understand why a credit report is pulled for a secured card if they still deny you.  It gets really frustrating.

So far, I only have a CU Rebuilder Loan and I was approved on Saturday for the Open Sky.  I would like to have at least 2 more secured cc's.  I am  thinking of getting another Rebuilder Loan.

Thanks for all help.

Re: US Bank H-D CC Application

I don't know if they pull chex. I applied for a secured card with them 7 months ago and it was declined. I did have something minor on my Chex though.

I've pulled a Chex report since then, so if I can find my report, I'll take a look and let you know.

Also, US Bank is pretty conservative, even for their secured cards. I was able to get Wells Fargo, SDFCU, and CapitalOne secured cards when US Bank said no.

Re: US Bank H-D CC Application

Thanks, I'll wait until my reports are cleaner before i apply.  I might have to go with some of the less desirable cards, like Primor?  Would you get another Rebuilder loan as opposed to Primor?

I checked my Chex. It was from Mid-May, and did not show any inquiry from U.S. Bank, for which I applied for their secured card on February 12th. My scores in February were south of 580 on Experian, which is what they pulled for the app. However, I did have unresolved CO's and Collections at that time.

I think the common wisdom is 3 Cards (with one of those cards reporting 1-9%, and the other reporting 0% utilization) and 1 installment loan to maximize scores.

Re: US Bank H-D CC Application

Thanks for this info.  I have read Beverly Herszogs articles.  Very helpful.  Her site mentions the Primor card and if I am unable to get any others then.....

I'm not sure Ishould even be concerned about the inquiries at this point because pulling my credit reports may be my only option.

You have been a great help.
