US Bank Platinum... DENIED!?!? (with an asterisk***)

This invitation has been chasing me around for 9 months!  The 20 months 0% interest and 0% on BT makes sense for some things coming up... PLUS... just had the REI MC conversion to Cap1. Thawed EX and TU and DENIED!!!  I was like WHAT!!

So I called today... they tried to pull EQ...  gotta love it. Gave me another # to call once all are thawed. I'll report back tomorrow...  First world problems... my disgust when I was rejected 🤣

So I called in today and nice lady helped me with the request which she said she forwarded the request and I should hear back in about 2-3 days... weird.  Then she gave me a # to the Authentication department if I couldn't wait and needed to talk to them.  So apparently its with underwriting.  Silver lining is I haven't wasted an HP yet.  They better hurry tho, the freeze is temporary and if they're late, then this is over

When you talk to US Bank they make it clear you should have all your reports unfrozen when applying for a new card. If you are applying for a CLI you only need TU unfrozen.

I think it always better to lift a freeze and then reactivate it after the HP goes through rather than a temporary thaw. Since you never know what timeline they are on.

Its weird.  I thought the TU thing also, so initially i thawed EX and TU just in case.... they pulled EQ of course.  Now I thawed TU and EQ so lets see what happens.  However, I only thawed it until tomorrow... does that last until midnight today or 11:59pm tomorrow?

Best to leave un-thawed until you get the HP alert. ..JMO
