I applied for one today, only placed $300.00 for the secured amount. It didn't give me an instant approval. I was curious if that was normal? I filed Chapter 7 BK over a year ago and this is the first application I've done in several years. I don't have any late payments or anything. Only 1 account currently reporting.

Call the number for the application status line on the link above and see what the automated line has to say. We can go from there on how to assist you. I will say if applying for a secured credit card is the same as the non-secure cards it may take a few business days before you get a decision if it wasn't an automatic approval/denial

@Fuerza is normal. I have two secured US Bank cards and they were not approved instantly but 5 days or so later. Around the same time I saw the $ come out of my checking account for their deposits.

Just wanted to provide a data point. The $300 was deducted from my bank account. I'm a little surprised but I also haven't received any type of notice from US Bank. No email or anything.

@Fuerzaif the money was deducted, you were approved. For context, I applied on July 18, 2021; about five days later or so, the money was taken out of my checking account. On July 28, 2021, I got the email that I was approved. So, you should be getting an email soon.
