US Bank What does the manual review involve ?

Final stretch for my USBANK app .  Scores are now EQ 785 Ex 796 TU 780 . No inq , baddies , etc , pos history going back 25 years on all CRA except TU which is 12 years . I've had a banking relationship with US Bank for maybe 7 years . Weakness is only two open accounts . One a secured loan of $500 . 7 months old , other is I am an authorized user on US Bank card CL $13500 . Utilization currently 6 % . Got a preapproval letter for Cash Plus card (if I remember correctly) . The majority of postings  I see say US Bank does a manual review almost without fail , irregardless of high scores  (800's) , income ,  etc.

The question I now have is what all is involved in the manual review ? Is a human just double checking the app jives with Credit Report , or are they calling place of employment , asking for pay stubs , etc etc ?

Thanks again in advance , hoping to do this in 3 or 4 days .

99% of all us bank applications go into manual review.  Yes it simply means that an Underwriter is going to look over your application and your credit profile vs. a computer making the decision.  You have a really thin profile so most likely I am guessing you will get the cash rewards vs. the cash+, but I could be wrong.  Cash rewards <5k CL and Cash+ > 5k CL.  The cash rewards if you get that can be upgraded to the Cash+ once the CL hits 5k.. Your scores are great etc, maybe you will get the Cash+, but it is normal for all Us Bank Applications go into manual review and you should know a decision within 3 business days. You can call the automated status line to find the status of your application if you would like.  Wishing you all the best of luck with the Cash+!  Just got to get a bit thicker profile of credit in the long run

I feel like they manually review pretty much anything... they had to 'manually review' my request for a $1500 CLI which I was hoping would be a SP, but ended up as a HP.

From what I've read , and my own experience if they send you a CL increase it's a soft pull . If you ask for it HP . They sent me a CL increase , went for it , SP .
