I’m looking for insight on US Bank.
A couple years ago, I opened a secured card with US Bank to start rebuilding my credit. After several months, I was able to get a couple unsecured cards from Cap One, and since US Bank never graduated the card, I closed it after a total of about 15 months.
Fast forward to now. My scores are in the mid-600s, and in the past year have been approved for cards with Barclay, Amex, Citi, and HSBC.
Earlier this month, I received an e-mail from US Bank inviting me to apply for their platinum Visa. The e-mail offers 0% for 12 months, followed a wide APR range that is 2-3% higher at both ends than the range publicly available on their card page. The offer also includes a specific invitation code to use when responding, and mentions that the card is a “full-featured” credit card (I assume that means in contrast to the secured card I had with them a while back.)
I’m not planning to bite on this, but was wondering if I actually had a shot here. They have some prior (good) history with me and might want my business back, but I obviously have numerous new accounts in the past 12 months and I understand they’re a conservative lender.
Opinions?
