I recently was pre-qualified for the US Bank cash+ card. I called and was informed I was preapproved for a $9,000 sl on the card. I was looking at this for the 5% on select categories cashback. Would this be a card that grows easily and a solid card to add? I don't currently have a relationship with US Bank. My current rewards cards are Citi Custom cash, AmEx blue cash preferred, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Discover IT, FNBO Evergreen,Bread AmEx, and Verizon Visa. Looking for recommendations before pulling the trigger on the hard pull. The other option is Bank of America. Do they generally give higher credit lines?
OK I have two cards with US bank, the first was Visa cash plus which was open in 2019 with a14K limit every seven months I got an increase of 5K increases which where all soft pulls and the card grew to limit of 25K limit any think after that would be hard pull. The second is the altitude Altitude Go visa was second which was open in July of 2020 with a starting credit limit of 10K and grew to 25K limit with 5K increases every time requested increase all where soft pulls. I do have checking account with only 300 in it and only use it to deposit the cashback into the account. Yes I would open the account it should grow put spend on it and pay the balance down each month. Good luck.
I love this card! More as a 5% specialist than my everyday card though.
I did pull the trigger. After applying for my Amazon Prime Visa. I figured since US Bank already had the pre-qualification, finish that app last. Approved for the $9,000 sl as the told me on the phone.
Congratulations enjoy it.
Congrats on your success - as others can confirm the Cash+ is a useful card, and yes it can grow via soft pull requests made online.
