US Bank schizophrenia

So DW received a US Bank pre qualified offer for the cash+ card in the mail.  We're looking to bt a couple of her cards, so went online to accept the offer..... denied.  Thought I saw a web page error message at the end, but since I realize that pre-quals aren't guaranteed, I just let it go.  The next day or 2 days later, got a text, saying "did you apply for a card?"  Felt a little like it might be phishing, but we hit 1 for yes.  They requested id and ss to be faxed.  Looked on here and saw some reports of the same, so we sent it.  Next day she gets a glitchy email saying she's approved, and her card should arrive in dym days, and be sure to activate it, that will give her a credit limit of dym:600.  I don't know what dym is, but I sure hope it's another digit, and she's not going to get a $600 limit. 2 days later, we received 2 pieces of mail.  One was US Bank saying we are unable to open an account for you due to not being able to verify identity.... the other was another pre-qualified letter for the cash+     ...... Curious to see what happens next!

@CreditKick I think they have a great sense of humor 😂 specially with the $500 SL approvals. Keep your expectations low and don't let them get under your skin.

Funny how one lender like usb look at a stellar report and 800+ score and give you a 5k cl. Another lender can look at a report not as stellar, a 740 score and open you at 25k or better. Something to be said there when it's not only a report that counts, but to whom you are applying to can make a difference as well.

Give them a call tomorrow during business hours.

Tell them you got some confusing information in their response back to an application but that you sent ID and SS info as per your understanding of their request, and that you're calling to confirm if they got it and to check if they need anything else.

You are spot on there. Kudos to you. They do seem to have a lingering problem with ip Addy and location as to where you applied from. CSR was more than happy to fix it upon realizing what had happened.

Same exact thing happened to me on March 1st, applied for cash plus and MCP version.  Although I was approved both both after ID verification still received denial letters from both banks"Unable to verify my identity". One card arrived over the weekend,  informed delivery shows the other arrives today.  I'm certain you're approved.  May have to take another hard pull to recon the $600 SL. Congrats on approval & Good Luck! Just wandering if you have prior relationship with US Bank?

I am hopeful for your sake that it wasn't a $600 SL on the Cash+ card. I would be calling them to recon that IMMEDIATELY
