US Bank

Okay, so I've wanted a US Bank card for a while. I've been checking their prequal site every couple/few weeks, and have been consistently getting the 'sorry, we don't have any offers for you' messages. Until, that is, last week, when it actually showed me some card offers! I was pretty stoked, but was still afraid to pull the trigger. I checked again yesterday, and offers still popped up, so I figured 'why not'. Well, turns out the 'why not?' is that the prequal site is a doggon liar!!!   I received an instant denial. Super bummed about it! 

I haven't gotten the letter yet (obviously), so I don't know what agency they pulled, but it looks like their most common cc pull is TU, where I have a Fico 8 score of 639. I have one collection, and a couple charge offs, all older than 2 years, 11 inquiries, AAoA 2.5 years (oldest account 10+ years), utilization 19%. I read that they occasionally pull EQ instead, and my EQ stats are essentially identical to TU.

Does anyone know how US Bank is with recons? Would it be worth the effort to try? What number is best? Thanks y'all, and happy 4th!

Edit to add: literally just got an alert. They pulled EQ, which has a score of 633.

How,does your EQ look....USb is pretty conservative...try a recon when you get letter and have VERY good rebuttals for the denial reasons....I found their UW team to be very understanding.

Thanks Milo! My EQ is pretty much a mirror image of my TU; the only difference I see is that it has one LESS inquiry, but is 6 points lower...go figure

I had to recon with US bank. best thing I ever did.. they have been nothing but great. even moving me from a 9k to a 13k limit not long ago without even asking

Do you happen to remember what your stats were at the time? How long ago? Also, is there a particular number to call, or just the generic customer service one? Thanks for any info you can provide!

my scores were the same as they are now. They havent moved much in a year with the baddies I have. I believe this was the number i called I found here 800-947-1444 IIRC. I just searched us bank recon number. 

I also have a mid 6 figure income all my baddies are approching (4 of them) the 7 year mark. I have about 75 positive reporting account from CC to installment loans. 

They were extremely nice and have been good to me for the almost 2 years ive had them. I used them for a 8K BT too last october. Ive paid it down to the last 1400 since then. I never heard a peep, except for the constant BT offers sent in the mail.
