Hey y'all-
So... I was approved for my USAA amex on Nov. 23, 2018 (84 days). Yesterday, I noticed the 'change credit limit' button appeared on my account. It wasn't there last statement cut (January) - which was my second statement (1st full statement) - I don't know exactly when it appeared, but yesterday is when I noticed it. My 3rd statement cuts on the 18th.
From what I've read, the increase button generally appears at the 6 month mark as accounts aren't eligible til then. Anyone ever have the button appear so soon after account opening (if so, results?)?
I did have their secured card for a full year prior to getting the amex - I closed the secured and immediately apped for an unsecured. I have also been an AU on another account for several years -- perhaps this combined history has something to do with it...?
I know CLIs are a hard pull with them... and I'm in the garden... but I must say, I am tempted. I will likely wait til my 6 month mark to request one but I'd still like to know if others have had experience with this...
Be careful. Same thing happened to me and I pulled the trigger only to be declined for not having the card long enough. Cost a nice HP for nothing. Not sure why USAA is having these come up but as always YMMV.
Thanks for sharing your experience - a decline is exactly what i assume would happen if i were to request this early.
