So I'm thinking of hopping out of the garden to go for USAA rate advantage VISA ptlatinum. Mostly I want this card for cash advance purposes. I'm not a USAA member so would be joining for the first time and making the app at time of joining or shortly there after.
A bit of background -- I was considering a PLOC with a local credit union but I stopped buy today and they HP equifax just for savings/checking memberships. She said we could use same HP for the PLOC app but there max is $5000 whicoh if I'm trying to keep util low makes the line near unusable for my purposes. 7.5% variable on a ploc is awesome though I might consider them in the future but not right now.
But I digress..
So for the USAA app I would only want the card if the APR was the minimum 7.15 or say below 9%. Preferred CL would be 15k - 25k.
Stats are below. Student loans (older), 2.33 years into a 5 year car loan, 6 revolvers with the oldest just hitting 2 years and the youngest at 7 months. Near 0% util reporting ($100 of $106,000) and 65k-70k income.
Can anyone share if they have experience or think my USAA app will result in what I'm looking for, which would be 7.15% or close with 15k+ limit?
USAA is a good bank and a bit conservative. I currently have 2 of their cards and an auto loan with them.
Your scores are solid but they are inquiry sensitive (my experience) but I had 10 inquiries.
Not sure what rate you would get for a PLOC with them, guess the only way to know is apply.
For banking they are very hard to beat. My transfers are instant and money available same day. My paycheck even shows up 1 day early, but others have had other different experiences.
You may want to look at PenFed, I know there PLOC is like 10.15% at the low end but you can get a decent credit line. Plus for 1 EQU pull you can apply for as many products as you like. USAA will be a pull per product.

I recently applied for membership, credit card and auto loan with USAA. All three were approved with 3 hard pulls (one for each application). The membership pull and Visa pull were on EQ. The auto loan pull was on EXP. They offered 5% on the auto loan that I rejected for a 2.49% with DCU Fed Cr Union. My score was in the750 range on EQ when I applied and 690 on EX at the time.
I don't think USAA offers PLOC? I'm esentially going to use the credit card for that purpose (restrictions of course are $2500/day in advances and then finding a way to get the cash in my hand).
I just applied for membership on the phone and was approved. I now have USAA membership and a checking account. I explicitly asked, and was told, that it was not a hard inquiry for membership. Maybe the guy led me astray on that.. I suppose only time will tell. If I decide to CC app it will be online.
I'm mostly trying to determine if anyone has opinions on whether my profile supports the lowest apr on that card with CL at or near 15k.

There is no HP for membership to USAA; since they are not a credit union, there is not even a requirement to have a bank account to get membership with them - you only have to either be military, a vet, a child of a member, or married to a member. Neither myself nor any of my family members incurred a HP when we got our USAA memberships.
