Hello all,
I received a mailer from USAA inviting me to apply for their Amex card. I was just curious to see who they traditionally pull for CC apps. Nothing showed up in CreditPulls database for NC. Anyone have any input? Pondering apping for this card, as its 3x Dining, 2x Gas/Groceries, 1x All other.
Also, anyone have any opinions of this card vs the NFCU GoRewards or MoreRewards cards? I just need a good Gas/Dining card to round out my wallet, and have been eyeing these three for some time now!

USAA generally pulls EQ.
Confirm this (EQ pulls) for my USAA credit cards!
In Arizona, USAA has always pulled my Experian.

Hope they evenly pull between both... Or you will be walking with a limp to one side!

Im NC, they pulled EQ in June 2017 for me.
Sounds like the majority of apps have pulled EQ, with a few exceptions. I would assume they still pull EQ here in NC, as I asked my brother-in-law about his USAA Rate Adv card and he said in NC they pulled EQ as well.
Thanks y'all for the replies. One more question. For those of you that are both USAA and NFCU, how do you compare the USAA Rewards Amex to the NFCU More Rewards/GoRewards card? Either better than the other? They all have the same 3x Dining/2x Gas/etc. Only difference I noticed was the APR ranges. USAA states 11.65% - 27.65% compared to NFCU's 11.40% - 18.00%. I don't plan to carry a large balance, but that possible 9% difference is quite a bit!

I don't have the USAA or NFCU Amex, but I do have two accounts with each of them so I might be able to help somewhat.
With USAA they practically never lower your APR; what you get at approval is what you're stuck with. On the other hand, after a year NFCU will often lower your APR upon request if your profile warrants it. This might not be a concern with you (and most people - including me - discourage carrying a balance on a rewards card anyway) but it's a notable difference.
With my two USAA cards, I can redeem rewards anytime in nearly any amount; IIRC I think there's a $1 minimum. With the NFCU Amex, the minimum redemption is $50. This might or might not matter to you, but it's something to keep in mind.
Finally, for many people NFCU is more generous on the initial credit line, although for the right profile USAA isn't necessarily 'stingy'; I'll also add that when I was rebuilding USAA gave me my first 'big boy' credit line when everybody else gave me toy limits. Also, USAA is always a HP for CLI requests, while NFCU is YMMV... after a bi-monthly account review (AR) some people are able to get a CLI with NFCU with no further HP.
I hope this helps, and good luck whatever you decide!
Side note: USAA will also give you no-fee cash advances (at your purchase APR) into a USAA checking account, and you can link your USAA credit card to your USAA checking account for no-fee overdraft protection as well. At NFCU, your no-fee OD options are limited to a linked savings account or a CLOC.
