USAA "360° View"

Hello, all. I've been on the rebuilding road for awhile, and in the next 30 days (waiting for some CRA updates) I plan to app with USAA. I've searched endlessly for approval odds likelihood, and all I can find is "credit score is only one piece of the pie, we use a 360° view". That would be great if there was a further explanation, but they leave that as their final word. Sooo...I've come here for input from the CC pros. I'll outline below:

-After CRA updates, I'll be sitting at 650 EX at best (I think).

-I just switched back to USAA banking, but the first direct deposit has NOT hit yet (takes a month or so for Veteran's Administration to get that done). Total monthly direct deposit is 5k range.

-USAA member 18 years, but no real dealings with them in 14 years.

-Charged off CC (CL 10k) with them in 2006, but had PIF 8-10 years ago.

My apologies for the babbling, I just didn't want to leave out a detail that may be key. Any ideas to raise this 360° view? Wait for all direct deposits to start hitting USAA checking? Throw one of their insurance policies on the old farm truck? Send them a selfie hugging some kittens? Help a guy figure out this 360° view deal.

Thank you so much!

Re: USAA "360° View"

It is really difficult for any of us to say.

Had the charge-off gone unpaid your odds would be quite bad.

Your stated score is lower than what a prime creditor would like.

If you are eligible for USAA you are likely eligible for Navy Federal.

Unless Navy had cause to pull your credit while the charge off was on your credit report, the charge off should have no impact either way to Navy Federal.

Even if your plan is full steam ahead with USAA, a Navy Federal credit account might help bootstrap your credit report.

Re: USAA "360° View"

USAA uses EX FICO 3 and from my experience a 660 EX FCIO 3 or above  chances are good.

Below a 660 EX 3 not so much, however they may throw you a bone & give you there starter card for $500.

Not sure if DD helps and or insurance, however I have both.

I wouldnt think a paid charge-off with USAA from years ago would prevent  an approval.

Just from my experience YMMV!!!

                                                Good luck!!

Thank you! I have MyFico Premier, but can't seem to find EX FICO 3. Is it in there somewhere?
