No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I am interested in getting a credit card from either USAA or Navy Federal. The cards I am looking at are standard 1.5% cash back cards. I have a very, very thin credit file and I have seen that USAA tends to be a very conservative lender. Between USAA and NFCU, which one is generally easier to get approved for? If I am not approved for the card I applied for, do they tend to offer a different card or do I need to submit an entirely new application for something with better approval odds?
Thank you for your help!
NFCU is far easier to get than USAA.
Not sure if either counteroffer with a different card on the same pull.
You say you have a thin file but more data points would be nice.
Scores ?
Any derogatory info ?
Current credit cards and loans ?
Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the forums.
Are you currently a member of either NFCU or USAA?
Thank you, I am happy to be here!
I am currently a member of USAA. I am not currently a member of NFCU but plan to join some time this year.

I am brand new to credit. I have one secured card with a credit union (not NFCU) and have had it for seven months. According to Experian my FICO score is 734. I have no loans or derogatory information.

Thanks.
You probably stand a reall good chance with NFCU ( once you become a member) for your second CC.
I'd consider USAA six months to year after that if you want their products
