My girlfriend just recently got her first FICO scores after having her secured Discover card for 6 months. She applied for the cash+ visa sig from usbank and got the 7-10 day message. This was two days ago and when she calls the automated line, the app status says still processing. Anybody have an idea if this is a good/bad thing?
Her Data Points:
-student
-Usbank pulled Experian with a FICO8 score of 727 and one inquiry
-Got approved for a marvel mastercard with a $3,000 SL same day she applied for cash+
-Two other accounts: Secured Discover ($200) & Cap1 QS1 ($400)
She's wondering what her chances might be at this point.. Thanks in advance guys!
I'll try to help shed some light with an answer.
That is perfectly normal for US Bank and (2) days or even a week or more is routine.
They manually go over every application before issuing a final decision.
Now with her being this new, i can say US Bank also was one of my very first approvals and if nothing is changed with them, they seem to sometimes favor new customers like this or at least they used to.

Actually, US Bank approved me instantly, so clearly not a manual review for everyone. They are known to be very conservative, and many say they prefer a previous relationship. And up until recently, the Cash+ has been very tough to get. I got a credit line that was 1/5 of any of my other credit lines when I applied with excellent credit. I think the chances are 50/50.
Update! We called the status line this morning and found out she was approved thanks for the responses guys!

Yeah that's why i mentioned others might like to reply with more concrete answers.
They used to manually review EVERY app so looks like that part has definitely changed, and for the better and delight to others who won't have a long wait on a decision anymore.
