Hey all, I am at my wit's end with Cap 1. No luck with recon, I've lost count now. Any advice? Or are my scores(in my siggy) just too low for them?
I understand it's not ALL about your score but I've seen others get low-limit approvals with more damaging files than mine. What gives? ![]()
I have two USAA secured cards and wanted to add one unsecured card to the mix. I applied for the Navy Fed nRewards but was denied. I really don't want to tie up anymore money in secured cards.
I got approved for and unsecured Credit One, but I've read far too many horror stories about them. I've also read that cards like Credit One, First Premier, etc. will be indications to future UWs that you've had problems in the past. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What makes up your current scores? (Negatives) Unfortunately one glance at your scores suggests that unsecured (besides the usual suspects (C1, FP, CF) will be a hard sell. Give it time as credit is a marathon, not a race.
Attack your Negatives effecting your credit score and your report first. Anything right now will just increase inquires for denials and that looks alarming to some lenders. Especially if those are your current scores and have negatives that are holding them down.
Only advise is attack what is bad on your profile being dispute, PFD or just pay it off so you don't get any judgements against you (assuming you still have CA, CO's) and of course time as stated credit is a very very long marathon.
The rebuilding section of this forum is a very valuable resource you should look into.

So far my credit repair journey has been going quite well, a lot has been removed and I am now tackling my medical and PFDs. I was just following advice that I was personally given from those more experienced than me. I am not in a rush, which is why I prefer to recon, rather than app wrecklessly. I'll just have to let my reports update completely before pursuing any new credit. Thanks for the advice ![]()
i cant complain with creditone... yes i paid a 75 AF but after 45 days my limit went up a little from 400 to 550. its reporting to all 3 bureaus and the idea that a uw could see i had credit problems in the past.... i think the discharged bk speaks volumes on that level.
Did u ever burn cap one of the old HSBC cards? I've seen others get in with similar scores for an unsecured platinum... Good luck.

Nope, never had any CCs until now(2 secured). Maybe that's what it is? Idk, this credit thing can be so unpredictable. I'll just chill for now, and try again when my disputes take effect.

Correction, I've had 3 secured cards, 2 currently open. All through my banks, never had any of the others.
