I applied for low APR Unify FCU Card and it immediately went in to review status. Which was surprising since I have ex 806 eq 822 and tu 819. Plenty of income and utilization of 1%. I called today after pending for 2days. I was told it was denied due to excessive inquiry LOL. I have 3 inquiries in past 6 months and 1 of them was UNIFY FCU. I asked rep what do you mean excessive and was told that if you have more than 1 inquiry in past 6 months that is what they consider excessive. I an assuming they mean 1 inquiry in addition to theirs, lol. Ridiculous, so if you have any inquires do not apply here. Waste of time.
Sorry to hear some lenders are very sensitive to inquires/new accounts in a certain time frame. Good DP for others though
I should have posted this but I've been busy. I applied for their low rate card a few weeks ago. After a day they came back with a $5,000 approval at their lowest rate. I tried calling to speak to an underwriter and requested that they review the offer. I haven't had such a low offer in many years and only have one card, my dear Discover which has sat at $5k for many years. I was expecting $20 - $25k. After going back and forth for a week they wouldn't budge. At first I decided to just take the low limit card as I already took the hard pull on Experian. I submitted proof of income and then a few days later they asked for banking statements and a few other things. I think they got mad at me not being satisfied with their offer. I ended up withdrawing my application as it wasn't worth all this drama. It would be hard to grow the card as all CLI require a new app and a hard pull. In the end I was very disappointed in the whole process and don't recommend others to apply as this credit union has really tightened up. My stats at time of application were 0 inquiries in the past 12 months, score 785 - 795 depending on what version they used, less than 1% utilization.

Wow, I guess they've gotten crazy. They used to be much more user friendly.

I was approved with bunch of credit inquires reporting. They required me to send paystubs and bank statements. I went in branch and the banker got bank statements waived. You can try talking to a banker and see if they can help. My credit limit is stuck at $5K since they do hard pull.
UPDATE:
OK I CALLED IN TO RECON:
I told them one of the inquiries was from first Tech for just Membership and they were just my 2nd inquiries. She asked why I wanted the card. I told her We were going to taiwan and wanted to use it for the no international transaction fees. I also told her how much I had researched different CU's and how theirs stood out(just piling on the a$$ kissing) lol. She said well all that sounds reasonable so I will approve u for 10k. I told her I just denied accepting a 10k card from another CU because It's not enough when traveling to Taiwan for 2 months. So she bumped to 15k(2 sec to get 5k more) lol. Well this is where the fun starts. As mentioned before 806EX and less than 1% utilization and she requested 3 years of complete tax returns, 3 years of w-2's, 5 weeks of POI, DRIVERS LICENSE, MULTIPLE Proof of residence, send most in Screen shots or images. Days later got email stating everything needed to be in PDF format. So converted everything. A week goes by and finally for 15k Card sent out. So recon work u just better be ready with a story to tell them that make sense. Lol

Well congrats on your very difficult and tedious approval!
Unify can be an extreme PITA. ...been there done that!
I'd have told them to get bent after the 3 years of tax returns, much less the rest of the info. I've only ever given that much info to Amex, and thats because I plow $150-200K a month through them and value the relationship.
For my DP, Unify told me I had too many unsecured cards and they wouldn't recon even if I offered to close one.

The only thing left was for them to ask for a blood sample and the pattern would have been full.😲
You must have really wanted that card. I wasn't going to jump through so many hoops for a toy limit card that will only grow with hard pulls. Having to tell them a story about using it in Taiwan with no FX fee was priceless. I would have said it's a credit card, what does it matter what I use it for? Congrats on your victory anyway.
