Upcoming app spree?

So my wedding is fast approaching, and second and final deposits are coming due. So while researching possible ways to pay for everything I think the best is to use credit cards with 0% intro offers, and I have my eye on 3. But they're all with banks I do not currently or never have had relationships with.

1. BoA cash rewards. I have a pre-approval from the mail for this with 15 months at 0% new purchases and a $200 cash back after 1k spend. It does say this is a firm offer for credit and has a fixed apr after 15 months. But says that it could be just $500. So anyone who's paid for a wedding know that ain't gonna do it how likely is just getting $500?

2. Citi rewards + did the pre-qual page on line it comes up with this card. 18 months at 0% on new purchases $150 rewards after 500 spend. Fixed apr after 18 months of 16.99% but again I've heard Citi can be stingy with SL especially for 1st time Citi card holders.

3. Wells Fargs Propel. No prequal on this. Now I did have an account with them years ago it was joint with my ex wife, in mediation they told us to each open our own new accounts and to close that one. We opened the new accounts but come to find out she proceeded to overdraft the joint account. Now I've paid wells Fargo back for this in full as soon as I found out it happened but the damage was done. They have in their files all the information about the divorce and i briefly had a solo account with them that remained perfect until i closed it about 2 years ago. So would this one even be worth apping for?

Some brief data points.
FICO 8 - EX 729 / 7% uti / 3 inquiries in past 12 months 10 total 4 falling off by months end / 1 personal loan 1 yr old still own 20k of 26k loan / 1 paid collection also from ex wife's secret cell phone she opened in my name.
FICO 8 - EQ 744 / 7% uti / 1 inq past 12 months 5 inq total 3 falling off next couple months / everything else the same except no collection listed here
FICO 8 - TU 724 / 7% uti 1 inq past 12 months 7 total 5 falling off next couple months collection is also here.

My last inquiry was from last July when I applied for my venture card but I do have a newer card than that I have the AMEX gold I applied for that in December but no inq. So I have 2 cards from the last 12 months but I'm still like 10/24 so chase is out of the question.

So I guess the biggest questions are,
Would these even be worth the hard pulls, like starting limit wise?
If i did all 3 would there be an ideal order to apply for these?

Re: Upcoming app spree?

What’s your Amex limit? Have you asked for the 3x CLI with them? You could do that if you haven’t, and you can check your prequals woth them too. Your stats look easily to support another Amex (maybe Gold?) and it’s very possible you get a limit that would work well for your expenses.

Re: Upcoming app spree?

Looking at the long term I can say BOA grows the most.  $500 isn't appealing but, I got 10K w/ no relationship and it's grown to 65K in a little under 2 years.

I have WF as well w/o a relationship and they were about as stingy as Citi when it comes to the opening limit at $7500 /  Citi hits 8K range for me on 2 cards so far.  I've had Citi longer and I took a HP at activation on both for an additional 5K/ea to bring them over 10K when they first reported.  They are now to 17K/20K w/ 2K SP CLI's every 6 months.

I would app Citi First then do the others because of some peculiar things Citi can balk at when it comes to inq's.

Depending on where you're located you could look into BBVA / Regions / BBT as well for some 0% options.  Of the 3 Regions came in at 21K, BBVA 15K, BBT 10.5K

Re: Upcoming app spree?

Another option would be, if you have a relationship with a credit union, talk to them about a loan. Interest is likely to be far lower than on credit cards. No you don’t earn rewards but financial health is more important, you’d know how much you can get, and after payoff you’ll have likely spent quite a bit less money than if you put all of this on cards.

Re: Upcoming app spree?

Personally I would just skip the Propel. I’d go for the Citi and then the BofA afterwards. 2 cards at one time is a little safer anyway. Your inqs aren’t very high, so assuming your income is good, I don’t foresee much problem. Congrats on your wedding and good luck!
