Venmo invite or pre approval

Has anyone that has an "invite" for the venmo card ever been declined? Is it a pre approval or invite only?

It's not a pre-approval @MyDataMyChoice. These are targeted invites as the Venmo CC hasn't been rolled out to the general public. I received one on the Venmo app about a month ago.

ETA - if you're going to apply be sure SageStream/Innovis is not frozen.

I was denied with that

Reasons being something like

Too many inquires

Balances on credit accounts not decreasing quick enough

SageStream might be frozen for me, though

I got the invite and declined for having balances too high in relation to credit limits or whatever it is. I'm at 4% reported util, so that's probably not the real reason.

I was approved with a 5k limit with my SageStream frozen. Hp and new acc lol
