Starting to think even after the 181 day try and hopefully success you might just not break down and got for the venture/qs combo..  Would say you have willpower , but see the ebates visa in the mix.. Just doesn't seem like your styleSmiley Happy.. Don't get me wrong, thought about applying for it as well as it is a TU puller, but I then thought would I really use it, then I had my answer.

The only reason I applied for it is because it was a TU puller. Smiley LOL

I should probably accept the $2K increase and hope for something higher on Christmas day (when my 6 months are up).

By accepting the increase it will bring down utilization by 3%. The other good thing about the venture increase is I would be in a position to close out unused commentiy accounts (avenue, Marisota, SimplyB,) as these are all at $250 CL and I just don't see a need to shop with them. These accounts were obtained by SCT and are around 4 months old.

Probably will never use and they were obtained to help reduce utilization before getting Discover, Key Bank and Venture cards.

Utilization is still too high to get CLI from Walmart, Amazon and AMex.....due to unforseen medical expenses that were not covered by insurance. Financial recovery for E.R. and hospital stays for wife will take a year to pay down.

+1 agreed. i could see if it said $500. but 2k. you are not gonna get a better offer. that fast.

Re: Venture CLI after 74 days - turned down

OP - take it next time if they offer 2K or more! This is not Amex and 3X CLI lol. Congrats on the Venture and the already pre-approved CLI. What has been your usage for the 74 days? My card is recent (couple of weeks) but I've put more than 5K and PIF already before the first statement. Just want to know what kind of usage they are looking for aside from other factors such as score etc.

To everyone else - thank you all for the data points. Glad to know that if they offer 2-3K to grab that Smiley Happy

Not even 3 months after getting a card, a 2k CLI is a very respectable offer. Don't be too greedy or unrealistic.

Has your profile changed significantly in those 74 days?  If not, $2k is a pretty good increase.

Re: Venture CLI after 74 days - turned down

After my 4th statement was generated I hit the button and was offered a $2k CLI for my QS Visa Siggy (started as $5K).

I didn't even hesitate to accept... I felt it was very generous, especially for a new account.  You might do better, but next time the offer could also go down... YMMV.
