Went to apply for the Venture card and got an instant denial. The letter they sent me said based on my Experian report (690 is what they pulled) I had too many inquiries. I have 6 in the last 12 months. Do you think it's worth trying to Recon, or should I just garden for the next 6 months?
Hmmmm... I was just approved for Venture, but denied Quicksilver visa. The denial letter said the same thing, too many inq. on EX. They also had my EX score at 708, which is 30 points lower than Myfico. Maybe an internal score? I was also wonderind about a recon on Quicksilver. Although I've read Cap One doesn't recon well.

Sorry about the denial.. Just garden for the next 6 motnhs. What are your other scores? CAP 1 usually pulls all three bureaus for their cards..
Yea based off of what I was reading I figured I had a good shot. 693 EQ and 692 TU. But guess I'll let some of these inquiries age a bit.
usually when I get a denial from capitalone look like, its due to too many new cards. A little bit of gardening and check for a prequal in a few months.
Too many inquiries was just the reason they pulled from the hopper. The decision was based on overall profile.
Cap one uses fico 04 its widely known that why when u get the letter they dont match your fico 08 scores

No. its not internal score. its your fico 4 version. Its what they use. so it would not be same as fico 8. If you look at other versions of your fico score here. you will see the number matches exactly
