My question is can I close some of my capital one cards and apply later for the Venture card?

After reading your topic I tried to apply for another Cap1 card. That's what I got Unfortunately, we weren't able to approve you for this card. Recognizing this isn't the answer you were hoping for, we want to help you understand why and have explained the reason for the decision in a secure letter.

Were notified imediately with the reasons for denial, or that's what you got in the letter? thanks

How many cap 1's do you have? I Venture allows 5 in total. You have 4 accounts already?
