Re: Venture/venture1

Go ahead an try for it, i got it and i didn't think i would lol. Depending on how much you plan to spend a year is which one you should apply for. You would want to spend alot to offset the AF for the regular Venture. The VentureOne has no AF but you only get 1.25 miles per dollar instead of 2.

Re: Venture/venture1

My fico 08 scores were only a little higher than yours when i was prequalified and approved for ventureone and quicksilver visa but my 04 ficos were high 600s and TU 710 then.

They def used 04 model for my approvals

So I'm thinking about apping for a venture or venture one. My scores are 642/647/652. I have no recent bads but I do have 3 past judgements 2 paid 1 being paid and 1 paid collection showing. I currently have cap1 secured 800, qs1 3000, NFL 1500, chase 3000,and a couple store cards. All but the 2 cap one cards were opened this year. The cap one cards were opened a year and a half ago. AAoA is 2 years. I do have quite a few inqs from last year car shopping and this year's apping. I checked the prequal site and notta which isn't a surprise with the judgements. Anyone Hazzard a guess to what my odds are? Ty in advance Smiley Happy.

Good job holding off. If you are approved, you're probably looking at a low starting limit - not the 15-30k people are getting with higher scores.

It looks like you might be eligible for a product change on your Quicksilver One card. 3k seems to be the limit for PC'ing a QS1 to a no annual fee QS. Get on the Capital One chat and ask.

Is your fed tax lien paid or unpaid?

This is a fact for me too.  Bank card enhanced version. Scores matched perfectly

Re: Venture/venture1

To the people with judgements approved by chase....where they paid or unpaid? How old where they when you applied? Did you have to recon? Did you have any prequalify offers?

That is the only thing holding me back. Judgement is unpaid 6+ years old.

Keep trying the prequalify site and nothing!! I assumed it was the judgement that's been holding me back.

Re: Venture/venture1

I have 2 open judgements from 2009 (Ford 7K) and 2010 (Cap One 2K) along with my 2007 CH 7 showing as public records. Not a single CC prequal site found any offers for me (lest Credit One). I appd for Cap One last month, instant 5K QS approval. I also got Chase Slate 5500. CL instant approval, along with 3 Amex (PRG, BCP, and Delta PLAT), Wells Fargo Propel 2500.CL, and SDFCU 1K. I was declined from BOA, DISC, CITI, and USAA (but choose sec figuring I might as well get something for an HP).
My first Cap One statement just posted and reported to all 3 CA's. Previously, even just a few days ago, I had no Cap One prequalified offers. I just went there now and have offers for almost every card they offer including: Venture, Venture 1, QS, QS 1, and Plat. Strange they're offering me another QS, but whatever. I'm interested in getting the Venture, but might hold off a month or two until I get thru some of the spend requirements I have with these other new cards in order to gain the rewards. I don't want to add another 3K spend requirement by applying for the Venture (3K spend requirement over first 90 days for 40K miles).
But I'm also worried that the Venture offer might disappear next month once 8 - 10 new accounts hit my CR's. Any idea's or suggestions ??? Will holding off possibly hurt me ??? Thanks.

That's great! Gives me hope. What are your scores? Do you know your Bankcard enhanced scores? You mentioned you bad credit, but what good things do you have and what limits and when were they opened? What is your income range? I am just trying get the courage to apply - Some cards are automatic declines for tax liens and I think Cap One is one of the only ones who are tax lien friendly. Thanks!

Re: Venture/venture1

Well my public records are not showing on EX (790), but are on TU & EQ, which are both right around 700. I hadn't used ANY credit in the last 8+ year's after my CH 7. I put my head in the sand, didn't care to see the horror, which was my CR's, and lived off cash and prepaid. My wife finally threatened divorce if I didn't tackle this issue and so this past Jan (2015), I pulled all 3 CR's. While my scores were bad, mid 500's across the board, I only had the judgements/CH 7 I mentioned, and the one Cap One delinquency left showing. I also had several good accounts that were left showing, but none that were recent. So I took out a 2K secured Wells Fargo CC along with a 1K secured US Bank, and Credit One (400. CL). My scores went flying up over the past 6 month's, and so I decided to go on an app spree. I'd say I was successful, although I was declined by those I mentioned above. All my approvals had small CL's (AMEX Delta PLAT 1400. / BCP 1K / SDFCU 1K, WF 2500.) except for Cap One QS 5K and Chase Slate 5500. I couldn't believe with an outstanding judgement to Cap One that they'd instantly approve me for that QS 5K, but they did. Except for today's Cap One prequal I mentioned earlier, I have absolutely zero prequal's on any other site, and I've tried them all, almost daily. Disc showed me offers every time, but I've been declined all 3 times I've applied. I won't even bother with Disc anymore. I did not burn any of the banks in my CH 7. I was forced to file as part of a business I owned and was on the hook for personal guarantees of well over a million in business debt (CNC Machinery) from the collapse of 07/08. I'm sure this has some affect on my approvals now as I didn't include any CC's in my filings. It was mainly big leasing companies like GE Capital and such. My reported income on all my CC applications is 125K. I do not know my Bankcard scores, only my FICO's. I'm in the process of trying to get those 2 judgements vacated as I plan to go mortgage shopping in 12 - 18 month's.

Re: Venture/venture1

So it sounds like the cards you were approved for sticky pulled Experian which was a judgement free report. Unfortunately my judgement hit all 3 credit bureaus. 😔 comes off in April.
