Hello,so I currently have 4 caoital one cards. I have a capital one secured mastercard which I opened in 2013 to start my rebuild process. I also have a quicksilver one mastercard that I have had since 2014. I opened up a quicksilver visa which I have had since early 2015 and I also have a venture visa signature that I opened up ealry 2015 as well with already a cli a couplke weeks ago. So the past few weeks and even month or so I check the prequalifie site it always says CONGRATULATIONS, WE THINK YOU WILL LIKE THIS PREQUALIFED OFFER which is the Venture Rewards annual fee waived first year/50 after but I thought that is the venture card I already have. It also says we also suggest the VentureOne and quicksilver rewards visa signature. I thought about closing my secured mc since it has served its purpose but it is my oldest card that has been opened. Of those prequalifed offers which would you recommend? You are allowed 5 cards correct? My tu score is 700/12 inq, ex 10 inq 680, eq 10inq 690. My income is only 18000 but I am starting a new job next month but so far that does not seem to be a problem since I have opened those cards with my income.
My DH actually has six cards with CO. Three Venture Sig's, one VentureOne Sig, and two Quicksilver Sig's. Has used the Ventures heavily for travel, and uses the one Quicksilver with the larger CL. Will be closing the second Quicksilver this weekend because it's just not needed. In regards to your secured CO card, thats got to be your decision. If it were me though, I'd close it. It's very exciting seeing pre-qualified offers for Venture and Quicksilver cards. But, sometimes, it's not always best apping for two just to get the cards. Get the ideal amount of tradelines/CL and your credit scores will be positively impacted. Good luck on your new job!
