Was wondering what happens if you cannot prove your verification(Either ID or Income or whatever) for a CC application? Do they just decline it or nothing? I ask because my sister applied for Barclays and called. They want verification of so many things, and well it turns out she doesnt have her SSN card, our father has it locked up. (She doesn't live with him and says hes out of town) So she said she might just pass on Barclays for now. Shes not too worried about Inquiries since she is only 18 and thats her first one on TU.
If you can't verify, they just deny the application.

Alright, she won't be like banished(for X mos) from Barclays or anything? I know its an odd question, but never experienced a verification issue before.

No banishment... if she applies again, they may request the same info. so have her have it ready before trying again.

Alright thanks, she thought it was a little odd to be asked for verification. I just reassured her it happens for whatever reason.

No, it is not odd. Banks do it from time to time.. Is this the same sister that does not have income and is in school from a previous thread?

My bad I confuse you with this thread..http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/No-Income-BCE/m-p/3991022#M58507
But your sister should be fine whenever she is ready-
They will just decline the app as was said before. Plus at her age she probably has no history.
She can go to the ss office and provide documentation to get a duplicate card issued.
IIRC she has 30 days before it results in a denial so maybe dad will be home by then of course as always YMMV
Good luck to sis
